Road Trip for Hay and Looking at a Trailer

Last weekend I had to drive 5 hours west towards Seattle to pick up some Organic grass hay from Carnation Farms, and also look at a special trailer. I also got to visit and stay with a good dairy friend. Come along for the trip!

I live 10 miles from carnation farms and hauled manure out of there for quite some time before there shut down of the cows Nice to see it again

They’re doing some good stuff there… I’m still trying to convince them to get dairy cows again, but I don’t think I have them convinced! Haha! 🤣

Wellll, looks like you're going to be doing some postgraduate work following your recent mechanics school. Great to be putting 12 back in the "harness"again. That is a long haul to get hay but I know you have certain quality standards to maintain. Best wishes my friends.

Congrats on the trailer and as far as the other trailer with the electric brakes with the pad separating from the shoe that is a known problem I use to repair trailers and when trailers sit a long time without moving the pad rivets rust off or the pads heat up and crack an brake off. But your ok now. Thanks for taking us along.

Exciting news. Thanks for taking me along. It was full of the beauty of Washington state. On a different subject, as I “rode” along with you across the wide-open miles from your farm to Carnation, I kept thinking about our government’s plan to convert the entire country to electric power. Where will there be charging stations along your route to Carnation? How many times will you have to stop to charge your vehicle? How much time will be added to your trip? I wonder if there are other people who have these same thoughts and questions. The USA is a huge country with a great deal of open land.

Thinking, that's were the problem lies. You are thinking, they aren't! Oh, and that open land will be covered with solar panels and windmills. They haven't thought about where we are supposed to grow our food, either!

Infrastructure always follows technology. The same can be said for the lag between the first gasoline automobiles and gas stations… Regardless of anyone’s opinion of EV’s, they’re here and they’re not going away. We’re blessed with ample hydroelectric, solar, and wind energy here in the Northwest. Washington has actually done a good job on creating “electric highways” with ample charging stations, even in the remote Eastern Washington communities. But, I’m in school for diesel mechanics, so I still feel there is a future there. Diesel is so much more efficient than gasoline as an internal combustion fuel.
