Lexi probably needs a nap im from Fresno where the taco throwdown takes place. so the poor gentleman was diabetic, didnt eat ALL day and during the preliminary rounds of the contest he got a heart attack, choked, and died. The contest has been going on for 9 years and always includes every taco truck in town and they compete for the title of best taco truck in the central valley of california! Super cool event but it just wont have the contest anymore.

let me tell you...driving through texas is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. unfortunately, its ruined by the fact that youre driving through texas. its worth doing once in life, i live in texas and have been all over, & texas has some of the most beautiful land in the states. driving through makes you feel like you wanna move out there no matter who you are. it makes you realize why people live in the country. you can get a multimillion dollar mansion for virtually nothing in parts of texas, even in areas closer to cities. but theres so much of NOTHING. if you arent from texas you might not know, but all of the population centers are grouped together. san antonio being the middle, austin is an hour out, dallas 4 hours north, and houston 4 hours south. the only other huge city is el paso becayse it kind of needs to be there. so you may wonder why is everything so close? because texas REALLY IS as big as they say in those songs. thats why driving is a pain, beautiful land, absolutely untouched. driving from town to town the amount of wildlife is unreal. but driving through isnt something you want to do. its something you HAVE to do. if you wanna see the land, drive an hour/hour and a half from el paso & austin and you get the experience. also south padre island is lovely and most people wouldnt expect texas to have such a place.

I love Ian's videos for the same reason, I also LOVE his editing style, always makes me laugh. He's my absolute fav person from the ol' Normal Boots crew besides JonTron, but JonTron is to much of a legend to include in that group imo.

Yeah it's like that pretty much everywhere outside of the coastal states. I live in Georgia and where I'm at you can drive for hours and still see stuff, but even then most of the state is still just... space.

Have to say, I realise over and over just how vast/empty even a small country can appear when you leave the small towns and large cities. Bet that feeling gets quadrupled in America.

With the exception of some large metropolitan areas, America is very very empty. Especially where I am in the Midwest, you can drive for hours before you hit another town.

@@demetergrasseater Yea you can go so far and just know there's stuff everywhere, but if you think about it that's just because we have roads connecting everything... really the reason we think it's not a bunch of empty space is because there are so many trees. I grew up thinking there weren't enough trees anymore (and there aren't), but Texas makes us look like we're made of rainforest.

thecosmicradiation America is a lot bigger than you think, my family learned that the hard way. Good thing mother drove coaches back then and happily did day-long trips just spending all day on a road. We spent one day driving from LOs Angeles to Las Vegas, got there at 1am. Mind you she drives from the bottom part of UK all the at up to Scotland in a day too so that kind of gives you an idea how big that distance from La to LV is, and how it compares to the rest of the country.

Texas is ridiculously huge. It can take up to 18 hours just to get from one side to the other lol.

I actually just moved from Northwest Florida to West Virginia a month ago, and took a bus here. The original trip was 29 hours but after missing a bus due to my other bus being late, it took 57 hours.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a long distance, but bus travel times are not the same as just driving. Texas is huge. My fiancée is from the McAllen area. From where we currently are, it's nearly a 7 hour drive (with only one stop).

I'd love to see more road trips someday if you go on one again. it doesn't feel like a boring travel vlog, it's really unique and fun and it feels like we're just hanging out in the car laughing at funny or interesting things we're seeing.

I dunno man, the newer hotels I've been in are starting to get rid of bathroom fans. I think they get around it by installing an air shaft in the ceiling so the steam can escape.

@@maricampari3970 that shouldn't be good enough. you need to be able to pull the air from an otherwise closed off room for both hygiene and safety reasons. a simple airshaft does not move enough air to satisfy those concerns.

I've lived in Texas my entire life, getting out of the state by driving is torture.

I just wonder about the costs involved. I also live in the UK and I'm trying to save for a house and while I probably could get one now, I want to build up a bigger deposit so I don't pay as much interest over the years. I live in a town that ranks in the top ten list of most-deprived towns in the UK. It's a depressing thought.

@@1Thunderfire I moved recently it's about $150 per day to rent a moving truck or $500 per day to hire movers. It sounds like they hired movers and they're probably doing something like a pod moving system (basically a portable storage unit that can be delivered or stored in a warehouse). The cost of gas would be around $300 and hotels + food would be another $300, I'd guess it would cost about $2000 to move across the country.
