Because every day is so different when you homeschool while traveling, we wanted to show what a typical day FELT like. It's not nearly everything we do, but rather what the general rhythm of our day feels like. Our schedule has normalized quite a lot in Thailand because of the amazing AirBnB and we were able to hit our groove and really make a lot of progress in all of our subject areas. The right AirBnB definitely helps!

Hi, I found you when I was looking for homeschool travel videos. I am still young (20) and I won’t have kids for a long time but I’m moving towards a nomadic lifestyle and I want to learn about homeschooling for when I have kids. Thank you so much for sharing!

You are welcome! The best of luck to you! There's so much information out there, but the best education is always through experience. Go for it!

Great Video - great family! Thought this is just working inside US. How is that working for exams (e.g. end of middle school or end of sr. high school) when you are outside of US? do you get an official diploma (for the kids) when living outside of US? keep on!

From what we know, homeschool requirements vary from state to state. Some are more strict than others about classes, records, and testing. We came from KY, which is one of the more lenient states. We set up our own private homeschool before we left, and created our own curriculum according to our world travels based on the places we would be visiting. (History, Cultural Studies, Science, etc...)It was a ton of work, but worth it! Outside resources we used included Khan Academy, Duolingo, Time for learning, and our local library. (If you have an education background like my husband, you can create a curriculum based on the state standards, and you can pull from different sites to supplement learning) As far as diplomas go, you are awarded a diploma with whichever homeschool/program you use. We will likely enroll back to public schools when we are not traveling. But, if we continue to travel, our private homeschool can issue the diploma as well. Hope this helps! There's so many different methods to homeschooling; this was just the approach that worked for us. Thanks for watching our video!!

I’m home schooling for the first time. My teen school he is traveling with my husband but I am confused about how he’s going to turn his work to his teacher because in this homeschooling program he has a teacher not a parent I don’t know if he’s going to turn it in online or what I’m going to have to ask the school this homeschooling thing is confusing me

We actually created our own curriculum and established a private homeschool. Zach has a background in education, which was a life saver! It is a ton of work, but so worth it! Some outside sources we used to supplement our education included Khan Academy , Time for Learning, Duolingo, and , of course, our local library. There are so many resources out there. These are just a few that we really liked!

Hello, any legal advice for traveling while homeschooling?
@myhappyreality1661

Well, every state is different as far as what is required to homeschool. Some require proof of education with a very specific checklist, and some are more lenient. So because every state has different requirements, I would research what is required and expected in your state of residence and go from there. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!
