Hey Moi, love the content. I would love to see a Eye in the sky with FoolsRoad Invasion v1. You almost never see the layer anywhere and with the BAF and the IMF clashing over hills and forests it makes for some great ambushes.

There is a reason why we don't see that layer that much. It is because it sucks so much... Bad terrain and only one road which they just camp :/ Not fun imho.

20:42 I think emplacements tend to be used quite rarely because in most circumstances, they help reveal a FOB especially on the attack. Something that may be really cool to see implemented, but would have to be extensively tested & balanced, is the potential for certain vehicle types to allow for an emplacement to be built using it (as if there was a .50 cal tripod or TOW dissambled and in transport). Perhaps a team wide limit of these weapons, 1 vehicle per team, limited ammunition, etc, in terms of ideas to balance it. This way if you seize the initiative on some good terrain with your squad and have the time to bring up this vehicle, you can be rewarded for your tactics, while not punishing the team for wanting to be a manoueverable hard hitting element, not FOB sentries. As another example of this adding an element of tactical planning, when assaulting a heavily fortified enemy objective with mass emplacements of their own, some of the best ways to counter that would be heavy weapon teams on the frontline, and currently there isnt a way to simulate/replicate that, however you define it. In many conventional forces, their doctrines have these teams fairly mobile, normally motorized and yes they tend to not be attacking elements, it is common to see them brought up as mobile fire support elements. For example the CAF, all TOW and javelin systems are motorized elements that contruct these systems rapidly from vehicles. TLDR: maybe we could deploy weapon emplacements from certain vehicles to implement more aggressive playstyles and tactics

I don’t like this idea. Emplacements can be really powerful and being able to place them without risking the loss of a radio would be an absolute game changer. Also it may make open top .50cal vehicles, mortar jeeps, TOW mraps, spg trucks obsolete - which already work as mobile heavy emplacements anyway.

@@Davefrompub I wouldn't go that far. Those other vehicles have mobility, as well as cover for the gunners, usually. While I do think TOWs and SPGs should not be buildable without a radio, I do think the .50 cals could be viable so long as it's the iron sight only variants and only on their own (so no MG bunkers).

The French mod has a HAT that has an ATGM that he can carry and assemble. That’s pretty cool. Maybe another approach would be that APCs and logis would work like a radio and would only allow u to place 1 emplacement.

@@Davefrompub I think as someone else mentioned in the thread, maybe limit it to certain vehicles, certain types of emplacements, a limit on how many of these "portable" emplacements you can have at once etc. A .50 cal iron sight emplacement is valuable but its not 2p ticket valuable, and emplacements aren't valuable enough themselves to warrant dismantling and rebuilding radios to allow for better firebase FOBs on the attack.

@@Rono99 No problem mate. There will be toxic people on every server. But in my opinion the Potato Fields gives you a great ruleset wich focuses on equal quality for all and no toxic behavoir. The admins are very very supportive and respond withing minutes. Every one of my problems have been solved been minutes and toxic players were removed afterwards. Can recommend to check them out.

@@meteorknight999 You're right but the Militia faction in Squad is modeled after the 2014-2022 aesthetic, back when what they used to have was a mix of their old service equipment, captured stuff, and whatever else they could use.

Moi has showcased several games where the INS/MIL team curbstomped a conventional one - it's just a roll of the dice whether you get a good team or not.
