I often see campers when I'm out and about - I swore I saw one like yours and was like "Nope they are off elsewhere right now" but as you say about the videos your "live" video would have been weeks ago at that point that this one was recording. The crazy number of bicycles is Nørreport - crazy busy train station and Metro station underground there too. The status is called Agnete and the Mermen - so George is correct. In the father's arms he's carrying the youngest of the seven son's as they wait for Agnete to return - there's a whole story/ballad called Agnete og Havmanden (Agnete and the Mermen). In the summer when the river level is lower sometimes they can be seen with their heads out of the water - the tour boats have to come around that corner realllllly carefully. My friend and I were there and I showed her - she'd been living in Copenhagen longer than me and didn't know it was there. If you come back and want Shawarma - come out to Nørrebro (if you know Bedford at all, my husband describes Nørrebro as the Queen's Park of Copenhagen lol). Yup I'm a born and bred Bedfordian but now live in Copenhagen - if you fancy exploring the less touristy bits - I'll write you a list! And yes go to Roskilde for the Viking Museum it's supposed to be epic! (The kids might also like Experimentarium)

Just in case you're not aware: You will not find double (nor single) yellow lines anywhere in Denmark. That is a UK form of indicating traffic rules.

Enjoying the vlogs as usual. I do admire you taking the (9m) MH ‘everywhere’ without batting an eyelid as it were - I think it’s a far better strategy than towing a small car. You mentioned the two Sat-navs……do they have the MH dimensions included, or do you just apply common sense!

Farø, with the bridge, is close to my former home. And to the side is the old, English built bridge from 1937 which is intended to be blown up when the new bridge has been built with, two railroad tracks, to serve the new, Danish built tunnel below Fehmarn Belt! A 4 lane, two track tunnel for cars to drive for themselves, unlike the Chunnel! Why wait for a ferry when you are able to just wait for a train! Finn. Denmark 😄

That depends on the country and if you’re staying in the same country it can often be the best option, however if you’re going to be going through different countries as we usually do, then probably not

Another great video and very informative. I have looked into getting mobile data abroad but all the companies seem to have quite low fair usage policies. Do the companies that you use not have these fair usage policies? Cheers.

Yes Graeme, that’s why I recommended going with Smarty and buying the 3 day data add on, it allows you to use your unlimited home data whilst in Europe for £7 every 3 days.

The other alternative if data is important is to run your main phone say on one the UK O2 tariffs, which gives an hour of talk time for any calls within the EU and to and from the UK for 15 quid and to purchase a second local Sim like Orange or Vodaphone. This only works if you are going to be in one country I.e say Germany as this will give you around 150g of data for a month and free calls within the country local to the SIM card, for about 18 quid.

Why did you choose a swift motorhome , as I found the build quality is not as good as some other brands , particularly the German Bürstner brand ?

Interesting question Robert. We do like the Swift build, we like that it’s a British made van, with British parts (if we need). But mostly it’s about value for money. We got a lot of vehicle for our money .

@@RoamingRadfords hi, never really comment on your vids, however we bought a brand new swift kontiki 599 in 2020. We sold it less than a year due to the worst build quality I’ve ever seen. As much as I would like to say buy British, the quality isn’t there.

question...why dont you ever publish a book with all the park ups or aieres or great campings,,,after years of following your travells you have been at so many places I want to visite,and now every time I want to go somwhere you recomended it takes me days of back tracking to find it back.....the book or anything with comprehensive information it would be on my to buy list no matter the cost.....I still remember places you filmed that I want to go to and now I cant find it any more....so to end this comment if you ever find a time to write your memoires or at least all the destination in one book I would love to buy it........all that said thanks for making my day/ year/aaaa everything a tad better.. P.S. Realy think about the book

Shawarma isn’t British. Similar to a kebab, shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern dish that originated in the Ottoman Empire, consisting of meat cut into thin slices, stacked in an inverted cone and roasted on a slowly turning vertical rotisserie or spit. Traditionally made with lamb or mutton, it may also be made with chicken, turkey, beef, or veal. Thin slices are shaved off the cooked surface as it continuously rotates. Shawarma is a popular street food in the greater Middle East, including Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, Iraq, and the Levant, also served widely in Saudi Arabia.

@@RoamingRadfords Thank you Steve for the detailed description of Shawarma. The way you are describing it I think you are talking about doner kebab. We were travelling in the UK some while ago and we tried it. We were told it is Greek and Turkish food and it is called doner kebab. It was served in pitta bread topped with different things including salad and Humus. It was delicious. Here in the US is mainly known as a Greek food and is called Greek gyros. There is a huge Greek festival in Oakland, California, every summer and they serve it there amongst other Greek foods. God damn it. We learned something new today.

No, as a connoisseur of both dishes, I can assure you it’s definitely not doner kebab, we have doner kebabs very frequently, I think 3 times on our recent Scandinavian trip! Shawarma is very similar looking to doner kebab but the taste is very different. Definitely give shawarma a go should you find one, a good shawarma is a taste sensation.

@@RoamingRadfords How interesting. I can not say that we have seen it here in the US. Maybe there is but we are not aware of it or maybe they call it a different name. Since you say it is Middle Eastern, one might find it in Detroit, Michigan. Detroit has a large Arab population so I'm sure they will have it there. We travel around the US quite a bit. Next time in Michigan, we will travel to Detroit and look for it and see if we can try some. It sounds delicious the way you describe it.
