There is a fate reserved for those that appears to be more than just turning. The important thing to remember about the Markers are, the brethren moons can see through the eyes of every necromorph using it. It would seem that those who resist, might suffer the fate of remaining functional consciously while also attacking their fellow crewmates. Lets discuss this process.

Roanoke you are a master at applying logic to the illogical , especially when it comes to dead space, so I would like your opinion on these theories I have about dead space to see if they are plausible These are some theories I have had about the dead space universe based upon pre-existing lore 1. the black marker manipulated humanity to create unitology and suppress knowledge about the moon’s plan. Altman spread the information about the marker easily when the government probably would keep a close eye on him but when he attempts to spread word about the necromorphs the government offs him and uses his research to make more markers and his death starts unitology, sounds suspicious right, well it gets weirder. When the scaf scientists discover the true nature of the markers and a machine that can stop it do they use it? NO, they kill themselves and all research on the markers, BUT LEAVE THE MARKERS INTACT?! This suggests that the moons not only try to make a species create more markers but actively suppress any knowledge about the moon’s true plans and this is how I think they do it. When the black marker lands on a planet it will begin manipulating the dna of current species till one develops a brain that is an ideal transmitter and receiver of the marker signal. When this species discovers the black marker it will transmit a different signal, one that will spread from brain to brain, that will inspire a religious movement, in mankind’s case unitology, that will spread the word of the markers plan and desensitize the population to the markers methods and act as antibodies destroying any being that would threaten convergence and the birth of a new brethren moon. And when the red marker is complete they are turned from a simple cult to genocidal maniacs creating bodies for the necromorphs. The moons also turned mankind into a space faring race in order to unfreeze the tau volantis moon, which also explains man kind’s unusual interest in exploring the stars when we haven’t even finished exploring our own planet. 2. The marker chooses specific necromorphs to perform specific functions in the brethren moons. Enhanced necromorphs form the muscle and less vital tissue thus they become stronger but can’t regenerate. Regenerators, ubermorphs, and the hunter would serve as the nervous tissue and the brain. This is why you never see enhanced regenerators on tau volantis, you can’t have both at once. 3. Necromorphs reuse forms from old species that are highly efficient such as the tau-volantians laying the basis for the brute and the nexus being used as a template for the hive mind and you even reference this in the slasher video and mentioning how a quadrapeadle template has been forced onto the human body. Other necromorph forms are partially used to create new ones such as the snow beast’s form and mindset used to create the tripod and tormentor necromorphs 4. Why did the hive mind on aegis 7 not keep growing into a moon when the corruption could keep growing as long as it is supplied marker energy? I believe that the extra mass the corruption gains is transferred from other brethren moons in the form of energy (Mc^2 = E = Mc^2) thus they are only willing to expend a certain amount of mass to create a new brethren moon, which also explains why the scaf members on tau volantis could not start another convergence event and it explains why they are trying to unfreeze that moon to prevent the loss of resources. 5. A convergence event does not guarantee a successful brethren moon. picture, if you will, two nests each with it’s own chic one is fed constantly and is allowed to grow to adulthood while the other is left to starve (sorry for the messed up analogy). If a brethren moon was formed in either dead space 1 or 2 they most likely would have used up all the organic matter to build it’s body leaving nothing to eat where as a brethren moon formed on a planet with a full population will have remaining biomatter to feed upon to build up “fat stores” thus allowing it to hibernate until another species can be harvested. This explains why some of the scaf members on tau volantis became feeder necromorphs to turn biological matter into energy to feed the incomplete moon. The following are theories and questions that, while not having any lore backing them, I believe make sense 1. Are the moons basically a cosmoscopic scale of macroscopic life, in the terms of all life forms exist to eat, reproduce and survive? 2. Are black markers made from enhanced necromorph biomatter from the brethren moons? 3. Was mars an infected world? 4. Are the moons basically the beta from muv-luv, resource harvesters that are no longer receiving orders? 5. Humans that have died and come back talking about the afterlife were actually connecting to the marker? 6. Are the accounts of zombies just accidentally created fodder necromorphs? 7. Instead of the marker signal preventing decay, does any microbe that would break down bodies join team necromorph by the marker signal? 8. The moons manipulate humans to create air vents to allow easy access for the necromorphs, otherwise why does everyone use vents big enough for people to fit inside of everywhere even in an insane asylum? 9. Are Cancer cells in-fact cells that have partially switched to the marker energy metabolism which is why they are so hard to destroy and can survive outside the human body? 10. Do the brethren moons find entirely fresh planets or do they deposit a small amount of biological material onto planets with the right growing conditions and send the marker after complex life develops ? 11. Does the marker signal suppress the growth of plants and mycelium? 12. Does the red marker have a specific range? 13. Why did the red marker not start convergence until it was placed on it’s pedestal instead of the moment issac landed on aegiss VII? 14. Has Issac gained abilities from destroying markers and constantly being exposed to the marker signal, like Jarrod from skyline? 15. Were the tau-volantians further along in their evolution than man kind was, thus giving them less time to be effected by the marker signal, thus allowing them the mental resistance to start a “rebellion” and freeze the moon in place? 16. Do the brethren moons choose specific individuals to carefully manipulate into helping with their plans, examples of which include mercer, tiedemann, and Jacob for those that would help the marker’s plans and mathius, stross, and Norton for those who would Sabotage the plans of those who would fight the marker 17. Do the brains of the people who create the area of influence the negates the marker’s effect , transmit an inverted marker signal from their brain thus causing destructive interference with the original signal? 18. Why does the corruption not grow ON the marker, just around it? 19. If the regenerator left the range of the marker signal and reverted to the genetic sludge, would it regrow into a regenerator when reintroduced to the marker signal or would it grow into new necromorphs?

@ericlamb4501
@ericlamb4501 7 ай бұрын
Well, that really depends. We do actually see a lot of the Volantians, mainly corpses and statues(?) and the few active Necromorph variants we do encounter don't look that changed. Like I said before on another vid, the Necromorph infection changes the body to become a deadly weapon, the reason it changes Humans so much is because we have no innate weapons. We don't have claws, our teeth are actually laughably weak for anything outside of eating, and our strength is greatly hindered by not just our brain but also the fact that full 100% muscle strength would basically rip us to shreds after one move. So, the infection mutilates the body to repurpose everything to actually be useful to the Necromorphs. The aliens of Tau Volantis, on the other hand, from what we can see and infer from the planets lore, are sea dwelling creatures, with the muscle to match since they probably swam alongside walking on the ocean floor, needing to be more robust to even evolve on an ocean planet to begin with, much less build a thriving society. As such, the infection doesn't need to actually mutilate them too much because they already have natural claws and strength. (That or the artists working on the project just phoned it in for the end of the game) At the same time, them being able to shoot exploding spawn from their belly, aside from being re-used Brute behavior, could also be explained as them having Sea Horse like mating behavior, where the male takes in fertilized eggs and carries them till they hatch.

Something pointing to the wall guardian being conscious is the noise. Rather, the tone of the noise, I mean. Other necromorphs can “yell” but it’s more of a half baked roar mixed with a wet gurgle which makes sense since the vocal cords aren’t really important outside of maybe terrorizing prey. The yell and scream of a wall guardian is a distinctly human sound.

The Dead Space lore has a very dark take on the Fermi paradox, really paraphrasing Serrano from Dead Space 3, the galaxy is a 100K light-year graveyard of civilizations destroyed by the Brethren Moons, and any nascent civilization out there would be blissfully unaware of the dangers till they discovered their own Markers in the distant future. Speaking of which 4:27, Michael Altman stopped an outbreak on Earth and it cost him his life.

I just wish there was a data log showing a scientist running tests on both forms of the wall guardian, and what they found. I'd be interested to know if there was some kind of way to communicate with the first form, as the upper body is mostly intact. Definitely a scary thought that the host would be at least somewhat aware of what they're going through.

Just a recommendation: Check out All Tomorrows! It’s written as speculative biology, and the idea is that a hostile alien race called the Qu genetically altered humanity into multiple different forms, it’s really quite fascinating and I’d love your take on it even though it’s not as extensive as say, Dead Space

@TheBritishRunner also had a theory about the Wall Guardians' screams being a bait tactic. He just posted a video this week where he talks about it being one of the scariest Necromorphs since his theory is a full sized guardian is the result of suckering in anyone who tries to save the person trapped in the wall, and making them a part of its biomass.

4. Was mars an infected world? 5. Are the moons basically the beta from muv-luv, resource harvesters that are no longer receiving orders? 6. Humans that have died and come back talking about the afterlife were actually connecting to the marker? 7. Are the accounts of zombies just accidentally created fodder necromorphs? 9. Instead of the marker signal preventing decay, does any microbe that would break down bodies join team necromorph by the marker signal? 10. The moons manipulate humans to create air vents to allow easy access for the necromorphs, otherwise why does everyone use vents big enough for people to fit inside of everywhere even in an insane asylum? 11. Are Cancer cells in-fact cells that have partially switched to the marker energy metabolism which is why they are so hard to destroy and can survive outside the human body? 12. Do the brethren moons find entirely fresh planets or do they deposit a small amount of biological material onto planets with the right growing conditions and send the marker after complex life develops ? 13. Does the marker signal suppress the growth of plants and mycelium? 14. Does the red marker have a specific range? 15. Why did the red marker not start convergence until it was placed on it’s pedestal instead of the moment issac landed on aegiss VII? 16. Has Issac gained abilities from destroying markers and constantly being exposed to the marker signal, like Jarrod from skyline? 17. Were the tau-volantians further along in their evolution than man kind was, thus giving them less time to be effected by the marker signal, thus allowing them the mental resistance to start a “rebellion” and freeze the moon in place? 18. Do the brethren moons choose specific individuals to carefully manipulate into helping with their plans, examples of which include mercer, tiedemann, and Jacob for those that would help the marker’s plans and mathius, stross, and Norton for those who would Sabotage the plans of those who would fight the marker 19. Do the brains of the people who create the area of influence the negates the marker’s effect , transmit an inverted marker signal from their brain thus causing destructive interference with the original signal? 20. Why does the corruption not grow ON the marker, just around it? 21. If the regenerator left the range of the marker signal and reverted to the genetic sludge, would it regrow into a regenerator when reintroduced to the marker signal or would it grow into new necromorphs?

I think it's a lot simpler than that: The Brethren Moons simply have no use for human neural tissue. You can blow off a Necromorph's head and they won't even flinch. The only thing needed up top are the mandibles and sensory organs, while the brain is just ignored as useless waste tissue. In the case of a dead person becoming a Necromorph, the brain is already toast, so no screaming gets done. In the case of a living person, the brain is completely ignored and left intact, with the person inside basically getting to feel the rest of their body rot away as the infection does it's thing.

I think the brethren moons leave the guardians faces mostly intact so collogues or people looking for them could recognize that face and i think they probably got so worn out fighting that the voices were able to whisper that resting in the corruption would be safe because the necromorphs won't notice them and they're so tired they believe them those brethren moons are truly twisted we should've been able to bust those moons open! keep up the good work great video by the way!
