Watch the massive high-speed accident from three crucial angles on BTCC TV. First ride on board with Gordon Shedden as he and Jack Clarke come together. As Clarke attempts to hold the resulting slide, Collard just clips him and is sent into his dramatic roll.
Thankfully no-one was injured in the incident, and the eBay Motors team is hoping to get Rob's car repaired in time for the Brands Hatch finale!

That car is now on eBay. I think they describe the item as "used".

Is it not dangerous to hold the wheel when your about to have a high speed crash?
@alexcov05

It´s for a high speed impact. But imagine, you are rolling and you just have the steerling wheel to hold ...

Oh it`s dangerous alright but try to think when you`re just been launched into a roll. He held on for whatever he could.

Extremely Dangerous, you need to keep you arms crossed over your chest

@@domgt3rs I've seen many rollover crashes before and it's very easy for the centrifugal forces to pull your arms around and sometimes even out of the window. Luckily his rolls were slow in this case, could've been much worse had the car dug in.

i thought they take their hands off the steering wheel in a crash ?

Depends on the car. Single seaters without power steering are the most dangerous to hold onto.

@@fastmclaren71 power steering ? what on earth has that got to do with a crashed car ? if the wheel is twisted very violently it will break your thumbs , when the car is flying through the air power steering wont stop that
@fastmclaren71

@@robertovers1863 With power steering there is a fluid which acts as a cushion. Unlike say, and IndyCar which doesn't have power steering. There is no stopping the wheel of an IndyCar.

@@robertovers1863its like go karts, with no power steering its easier to keep hold of the wheel because it will practically stay in a straight line, with power steering you have what's call play in the wheel, which means the wheel can turn easily, so the likes of F1, F2, F3, F4 any single seater, you take your hands off the wheel so the axle doesnt pull the wheel and your wrists around, and have what happened to ricciardo a month ago

@@neozone_hyrax.raw.lol have you watched the video? For most of the crash his wheels are in the air ! It’s the impact when the wheels hit the ground that will do damage to his hands Talking about steering is nonsense there was no steering when the wheels are off the ground
