How can Rob have one of the heaviest and emotional compositions ever made, one giant and conceptional music video of it and still be so underrated?

Oh, that waits for me 'Cause love, like a sentence of death's left me stunned And I'm reeling, yeah I'm reeling And if you go furious angels will bring you back to me

Video/lyric interpretation. - This song is about a man who feels that he must remain with his lover who has passed away. - +The chain (0:43), represented as a thread (0:51) of typical clothing, symbolizes Rob's strength/degree of will-power he carries to inevitably stay with his soul-mate. +"Cause love like an invisible bullet shot me down." Once informed about the unforeseeable fatal car crash (3:49), he uncontrollably ended his life. Which led to 2:18. +"And if you go, furious angels will bring you back to me." Rob's lack of control, to stay strong (and alive), permitted displeased angles to guide him back to his lover.

You know what? This guy doesn't even sing that well, but what impresses me is that he is both a composer and singer... A not an ordinary composer, but also a soundtrack composer. It's the first time I've ever seen an incidental music composer sing and be confident as him. I respect him so much... He is like both a rockstar and an epic composer.
@akzual503 жыл бұрын
singing amazing has nothing to do with expressing yourself in art. The guy isn't event singing, it's more like he's talking a story with generic music-isms to make the song more of a song and less of a story.

I think he sings so well, not voice wise but the emotions in his voice , other male singers may get beautiful but can’t deliver this kind of raw emotions like Rob Dougan does

Furious Angels Ultimate Explanation v.1.0 Credits: Duch Podlasia This video is not as complex in terms of allegory as Clubbed To Death, but it is just as interesting. To understand everything, you should know that the events in the video are REVERSE. The first scene is actually the last scene. Our hero dies with his woman in a car accident, which is shown at the end. "'Cause love, like an invisible bullet shot me down". The antagonist did not expect that love could be the cause of his death. As seen at 3:32, there is no car nearby. It looks as if the driver himself caused the accident deliberately. Could it be that "You're dirty needle, you're in my blood and there's no curing it" refers to his woman and to a feeling that has already expired and he can't get over it? The adjective "dirty" could mean that this person (his beloved) did him wrong. Unfortunately, he is so addicted to her ("you're in my blood and there's no curing it") that he cannot see life without her. Because of this, he intends to kill himself and her. He knows that condemnation awaits him for this. In 1:43 we see that he lives in the surrounding reality, but only in spirit, because people do not notice him. 1:45 - this situation can be read symbolically that our hero's energy has negatively affected a passerby. In 1:49 he is pulled up onto a skyscraper. In 1:53 we see that this is the highest point in the city. Knowing the events of the Bible and Mount Sinai, on top of which Moses contacted Yahweh, we can conclude that this skyscraper is the judgment seat of our hero's soul. For it is located closest to heaven. In 2:16 the black ink shows the defilement of his soul. He has done many evil things during his earthly life, i.e. killing his woman and himself at the end (suicide). He is also dressed all in black. In spirituality, black is the color of death, murder, damnation, among other things. He has been sentenced to eternal punishment, which he knows ("if you go, furious angels will bring you back to me"). Here the furious angels may symbolize the demons that are in the place where he will stay forever. Despite his awareness of the harm done, the man feels no remorse because he wants this woman even after death. "Like a sentence of death, I got no options left, I've got nothing to show now" - has nothing in his defense. He says this at 0:14, before the eternal suffering itself begins. The scene is recorded as if the character is confiding in us, looking us straight in the eye. 0:00 shows the very end of his fate. Plunging into complete darkness, being all tied up, with no possibility of movement. Imagine being aware of existing without the use of any senses or abilities. This is the real nightmare. The End. Interesting fact - Rob Dougan himself wrote the script for this clip. He is a true genius, indeed. I have never seen an artist with such an awareness of reality. PS. Instrumental version is better than this one xD Greetings!

Saw the video for the first time today. Up until now i had interpreted the lyrics as describing obsession and bitterness towards a partner who dumped him. But i can totally see how a loved one dying is also them leaving you in an unfair way. It was a bit of a mood whiplash though. First the imagery is all somber as fuck to match the music and the lyrics, but when Rob starts sliding down the highway i couldnt help but to laugh my ass off, only to stop when he comes full circle and reaches the woman he is mourning, who died in the car crash. Very impressive. Hats off to you, sir.
@Halo4Lyf8 жыл бұрын
+Wavemaninawe I thought that the comical dragging actually worked perfectly. It's absurd, yes, and that's the point. Life is absurd. It's brevity, it's fragility, how a deeply meaningful relationship can be there one minute and gone the next. You can't help but laugh at it.
