Even the best player in the world sometimes has a bad couple of games and needs teammates to step up to get a must win game . You’re wrong that no one in the media criticized Jokic but even if no one did, like what level of criticism do you think he deserved? Were we all supposed to believe because he went down 0-2 that he’s not the best player in the world and last year he got lucky or it was a fluke? Sometimes basketball is more complex than the best player on the losing team deserves all the blame .

They’re still struggling with the fact that a lazy looking white guy who plays generally BELOW the rim is doing this. We saw Larry and loved Larry who did the same, but Larry was American. Don’t doubt that Jokic being a foreigner doesn’t play into the downplaying of his greatness. That goes for Shaq, Perk, Brou, Nick Wright, Skip etc. he’s highly technical with his basketball skills. I normally agree with Chris way more than Rob but Chris takes the L here. The way the Nuggets were written off and the disrespect that Jokic has had to endure has been so outrageously ridiculous. Literally 99% of the sports pundits out there have been begging to write off Jokic because they deem him to be aesthetically unpleasant to watch because he does not fit the mold of his contemporaries that were the best in the world before him. Jokic has one of the most beautiful games you will ever see. The way that he inspires his team, the way they flock to him and show up for him. Jokic has the Tom Brady mentality as a pro sports star. It comes from work ethic and humility not pumping his chest or bravado. Tom Brady was never good at taking credit ever. Neither is Jokic. It has been disgraceful the way every show treats this man and his team this entire run as far as I am concerned. Utter disgrace.

No, it wasn't. The Most Valuable Player is the young man on OKC. The best player could be easily Jocik. Two different things. OKC is where they are this year solely because of the impact of that young man. Denver won last year, and their record isn't anything special this year. Also, Minneapolis isn't a very good team. I think some people making mountains out of mole hills. I get thst Jocik lookomg in pigmentation like them means more to some people than it mean to others, but let's try and stick to the topic. Most Valuable Player. Player impact on team success. Not just how great the stats are.

You also got Stephen A, one of the most recognizable faces on the same network. Then everyone saw Shaq's discrediting of Jokic on the very same announcement directly to his face. Even the hate given to Gobert is purely dont to discredit Joker, because they don't want to acknowledge that he can't be stopped. On the very same game Gobert blocked 3 of AG's dunk attempts and Murray having to spin around in the paint and forced to take tough shots. Jokic made 40 points because he had to be the primary scorer in the paint with AG as second option. The Wolves do have good defense because if the Nuggets played like this vs most other teams, who could block them?

Jokic doesn’t care about the MPV or what the media says, the insults about his ability hurt his family and friends so he HAD to shut them up and he really hates to lose so he was extra motivated. He did what the game demanded he do to win which was to score inside the paint.
