Do you know how to change the lights behind the climate control cluster? Is it a pain in the ass? Thanks for your time
@RobHoffmann207 жыл бұрын
I believe the climate control needs to be disassembled, however I believe from memory they are smaller than typical lamp size, im sure it could be done but I didn't mess with mine I think there is a filter in between the lamp and the display to give the color. Likely a pain in the A$$

I have Rockford mids and highs running off an alpine 300watt amp, then i have (2) 10" pioneer subs running off a kicker zx2500.1 I do not have a tilt wheel but i do have aftermarket intermittent wipers

Very nice build man. I just bought a 93 S10 4x4 p/u. Looking at getting the instrument cluster lights redone and redo the dash board. Thanks.

hey rob can you recall what bulbs fit the sockets in the cluster ?stock bulb 168's and/or like a t10 led?
@RobHoffmann2011 жыл бұрын
to be honest i have no clue. I purchased some individual LED's with a in line resistor rated at 12Volts. I believe i used my soldering iron to open the hole large enough on the socket's to fit the new bulb. i hope that helps you.

I love it! I gotta have a killer sound system. I drive a 2010 Toyota Tacoma regular cab and I put a Pioneer head unit and Pioneer component speaker system in it. My Tacoma has A/C, automatic transmission, tilt/telescoping wheel, limited-slip rear differential, but NO intermittent wipers! It drives me nuts when it's drizzling. Is the air-conditioner in your Blazer still R-12 or did you retrofit it to R134a?
@RestrictedAccessCIP10 жыл бұрын
What kind of speakers do you have in your Blazer? Also, just out of curiosity, does your Blazer have the Driver's Convenience Package (Tilt wheel/Intermittent wipers)?

Where did you find the light bulbs for the instrument cluster?
@RobHoffmann204 жыл бұрын
I purchased 12v led's and modified the original sockets to accept the new LED's, after that I added 2 flexible strips of LED lights into the cluster body. They were cheap from a place called princess auto. Kinda like harbor freight. Hope this helps you out. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
@RobHoffmann2011 жыл бұрын
i found them at "princess auto" i have also seen them online from a few different places.

I had made mine originally as this was 10 years ago, they now make direct replacement lamps in LED I have attached a link. you should search for something compatible with your vehicle. www.amazon.ca/WLJH-Automotive-Instrument-Dashboard-Indicator/dp/B07LDBK34F/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=12v+led+dash+light&qid=1606991976&sprefix=12v+led+dash&sr=8-14

What causes all the gauges to bounce ?
@RobHoffmann205 жыл бұрын
I just rewatched the video and can't seem to find the part your referring to. Maybe it's an initial power up after being removed?

@@RobHoffmann20 i mean as im going down the road and stop or slow down the gauges jump up and down then level out to where they should be
@RobHoffmann205 жыл бұрын
@@joeyziegler391 oh I see, I'm not positive what might cause that. I wouldn't be surprised if it may just be a little dirty and kind of stick a bit. Could be a grounding issue also. Sometimes if a ground strap goes bad it can cause all kinds of issues. My old car would turn off the radio if i honked the horn. I added a ground from the engine to the body and it solved many problems. Give that a shot maybe.
@joeyziegler3915 жыл бұрын
@@RobHoffmann20 hmm do you happen to know where the ground wire is on them ?
@RobHoffmann205 жыл бұрын
@@joeyziegler391 I'm not sure, i can imagine in the harnes that plugs into thr back of the gauge cluster. I would start under the hood with grounding. Maybe use a set of jumper cables to add a temporary ground from the battery to the body just to see if that helps the issue. It's a quick, easy and temporary way to check.

You’re supposed to just replace the entire bulb assembly
