"She's Madonna" was inspired by a conversation Robbie Williams had with his ex-girlfriend Tania Strecker, who told the story of how her boyfriend, British director Guy Ritchie, left her for Madonna. Strecker quoted Ritchie as saying, "Look, you know I really love you, but she's Madonna."

@Dioioego yes thats true by the time I was 22 my mother was dead of ovarian cancer, so her relationship with her partner obviously ended, she was 42 (she gave birth young). Her husband, my step dad took everything and ran away with another women. He was abusive. Because of this I was ostracised, alienated and unfortunately I developed negative habits of picking bad partners, in my last relationship before I got married I was taken advantage of and the systematic abuse continued... I was pretty nieve and vulnerable. Then my remaining family (both my grandparents), died shortly after, my grandfather within 2 years of my mother's passing. My birth father was often absent and also abusive but more verbally and emotionally... I know his adopted father my other grandad died in the February after my mum, so his marriage also ended. Yes you're absolutely right all relationships end through death of through the absence of willingness to prolong mutual commitment. I have a very intricate first hand experience of the tragedies of life...I apologise if my comment made it seem as though I didn't realise that.

"I have got a very clear perception of who I am - I am quite a few people," he explains. "They are a great bunch of guys. I can't say which one is my favourite 'cos the others would get jealous." He adds: "It's not easy to separate my private person from my artist persona. To start off with I found it hard. I had to live up to the stage persona and that's impossible. "The stage persona is like me times a hundred. It's like a super shield. You're a superhero when you get up there on stage and then you try to be as interesting or as exciting in real life - and it just never comes off. So I had to separate the two 'cos the real me is very shy. Really shy, and, er, a bit backward."

@takethatforRW Yes, it is. "You're frozen now" a clear reference to the song Frozen of Madonna, the same happens when it says "This look of love says I'm leaving" (The Look of Love it's another song of her)... "She's got to be obscene to be believed" It doesn't need explanation, he's talking most of all about the beginning of her career. "I found myself by circumstance across a room where people dance, and quite by chance she' danced right next me" It's a real story, Robbie told it more than once... "I want to tell you a secret" It's very similar to the name of Madonna's documentary I'm Going to Tell You a Secret. "We're having drinks with Kate and Stella. Gwyneth's here" He's talking about Kate Moss, Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna's closest friends. The chorus it's what Guy Ritchie said to her girlfriend when he left her for Madonna. Also in the studio version of this song, at the end it mentions Guy Ritchie and another song of Madonna "This Used To Be My Playground"

love it - he doesn't represent an ''image'' or what he ''has to be'', being limited and scared of anything that is beyond that certain frame of association and could threaten his fragile thought through ''identity'' (perception) he ''has to stick to''... he knows he is Robbie, that's what (the identity) he rocks, represents and to what ppl applaud to! He gives little comfort zone to ppl's ''expectations'' that should put him into an image or ''explained'' / defined role they exist and live by themselves... His talent delivers his talent and he is the only definition of himself - well-rounded self-sufficient and fearlessly diverse remaining only (the one and only) Robbie Williams. Few artists (and even ppl in general) can exist as themselves BEFORE (without) the idea of themselves (and what they ''have to be'' in order to ''represent'' it).
