Robert Barton Englund (born June 6, 1947) is an American actor, voice-actor, singer, and director, best known for playing the fictional serial killer Freddy Krueger, in the Nightmare on Elm Street film series. He received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master in 1988. Englund is a classically trained actor.
Heather Elizabeth Langenkamp (born July 17, 1964) is an American film and television actress. She is best known for her role as Nancy Thompson from the A Nightmare on Elm Street films. She served as executive producer and narrator to the documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy.

Heather has said that, since they met, Robert has been like an older brother to her. That's how close they are.

Love Heather's answer about the remake. Just like Englund is the only Freddie, Heather is the only Nancy (get lost Rooney!).

I agree that Robert will always be Freddy, but I also like Jackie Earle Haley's version, and I also liked that he wasn't purposely trying to copy what Robert Englund had done with the character. Instead he did his own thing.

Great stuff, I LOVE that Robert completely embraced that character...there is NO other Freddy for me..just like the remake doesn't come close to the original
