Thank you for posting this delightful serenade from Fuchs. I believe his songs are quite enjoyable to listen to, and he composed a fair amount of chamber music.

Che gioia mi dà vedere che finalmente ha potuto condividere con noi l'eccellente compositore austriaco Robert Fuchs con la sua prima serenata per archi in re maggiore, che secondo Brahms era una delle sue opere più delicate e squisite. E che qualcuno come Brahms abbia elogiato un altro compositore la dice lunga sul Grande Teutone. Se quest'anno sono fortunato e se la pandemia lo permette con Viola in mano insieme all'orchestra da camera della mia città, eseguiremo questo lavoro delicato e romantico. In one way, this reminds me of the Dvorak string serenade. Both have 5 movements. First a moderate tempo in 4/4, second a waltz like in 3/4, third a very fast 2/4, 4th a very slow movement and 5th a fast finale. The primary difference is that the Dvorak 5th movement is in 2/2 and the Fuch is in 3/8. Otherwise pretty much the same.
