I think Robert's right. Canelo purposefully took the foot off the accelerator. He didn't want to crush Jaime. He's a good kid and hard working. Canelo appreciates him and didn't want to beat the soul out of him. He's gonna be back and a much better fighter too. Jaime showed in those early rounds what he could become.

Those early rounds showed that munguia is a beast. He had the right game plan but like robert sId. Canelo is just on another level. It was a fun fight but it started getting obvious that he wasnt going all out.

I agree 100% with Mr. Garcia. In spite of Munguia's best effort to take the night, Canelo out classed him. I myself also saw Canelo, from my point of view, allow Munguia to stay on the saddle; and that's okay, the fight was in a sense the better for it... entertaining art of great boxing. It was made obvious hindsight that Munguia being an ascending top class fighter was yet premature for fighters of Canelo's caliber. A little more salt... almost Munguia, almost, you'll get their soon.

Benavidez said in an interview he wasn’t gonna go in the ring because he didn’t want to look thirsty I think it was an Eli interview which I kinda agree since he didn’t force his mandatory but if canelo said get in the ring u would call his bluff that he would fight u the same night, he would’ve put canelo on the spot and it would’ve been hard for canelo to decline a fight. I was obviously WRONG but before the fight, I thought Canelo might have been ready to retire and wanted to pass the torch to a true Mexico-born Mexican. Munguia didn't win this one but he has a bright career ahead of him. Shout out to Robert Garcia, and one of my favorites his little brother Mikey.
