Robert Ryman (1930 - 2019) was an American painter identified with the movements of monochrome painting, minimalism, and conceptual art. He was best known for abstract, white-on-white paintings. He lived and worked in New York City. In 2005, Ryman was awarded the Praemium Imperiale, the most important award in this field.
Robert Storr (born 1949) is an American curator, critic, painter, and writer. From 1990 to 2002 Storr was curator, then senior curator, in the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art.
