People don't hate pores, they hate visible (open) ones. Pores can become visible for a variety of things, but usually it's either because they're clogged, or because aging has made the skin less elastic and led the pores to hang open. Either way, it doesn't look good at all

Hi Robert, I have struggled to find a foundation routine for my mature skin. These are the changes that finally worked.... use a hydrating primer, then a pore filling one (Elf Poreless Putty), I then used a small amount of concealer to correct under the eyes and cover spots. I then mix a bit of a more dewy foundation into a matte one, and apply a very small amount- I use a brush to "pat" it into the skin, then go over it lightly with a sponge. I only use the tiniest amount of powder just under the eyes (I like the Hourglass Translucent Veil powder.) Just thought I would share this for any people with mature skin, just in case something in this routine might help someone!🖤🖤🖤

I like to use just a bar of soap for my foundation brushes - it always seems to dry on so grody. Works well for beauty blenders, too. Got a fucked up back so I'm not going to baby my $1 shop miss a brushes tbh XD

Yup, ruined one of my favorite eyeshadows by getting it wet. Had no idea it would end up like that. I'd always heard that wetting was just a way to get more pigment, so I dampened my brush before going into the pan. Completely ruined it.

I have been away from social media and KZfaq for a while (confession time BUT that absolutely does NOT mean that I'd ever lose interest in my dear Welsh brothers. I have just needed some social media break), so... Today while I was binge-watching Robert, James & Marcus, my hubby commented: "Hmmm, you haven't watched them for a while". My hubby, who absolutely has no idea about anything related to make-up and beauty. Except for the holy trinity of Welsh brothers! This is how much you are loved and appreciated at our house ❤❤❤❤❤!!!

@@ezgio.6929 Understandable! I gave myself limits, and even with youtube, an hour a day at most. I find it nice to be in control of myself, instead of getting lost in everything but my own life. Better to work on the problems than try to escape. Sorry, rambly today. But it's nice to hear from someoe else who has benefitted from a social media break. Did you accomplish a lot? I ended up getting so much done during the break.

My drying method is to rub clean brushes on a dry towel to get out the excess water, then put your brushes in front of a fan to dry. Works super fast.

When I clean my brushes, I use a mixture of lukewarm water, 4 squirts of dawn dish soap and some olive oil.
@pamelafreeman27812 жыл бұрын
That does sound like a good mixture. I’ve been using the Dr. Bonners (for children unscented). Works pretty well and more cost effective than what they sell at Sephora but can still add up. I’m going to try this!

Olive oil? 🤔Actually that is so smart , oil breaks down make up like Robert mentioned,😱I think ypu can also just use olive oil in the beginning and then once may up is broken down just wash it with soap and rinse it, it may work too, I think I'll try that. 😲Thank ypu for tip,💜

@@gone.victoria9229 Nope, never! But I also don't use a whole lot, a cap and half full, maybe 2 cap fulls at most. And I use a pretty big bowl too.
@meaganmccabe58562 жыл бұрын
@@pamelafreeman2781 Yeah, it is the cheapest I have found as olive oil, dawn are not that expensive and you don't need a whole lot to clean your brushes either. You could easily cut the dish soap to 2 squirts, thus saving more. I also don't use alot of the olive oil either. Just play around with it until you find your right mixture.

I feel like with makeup application hacks like the concealer one, it’s like a game of telephone where the origin of the hack is deeply distorted by the time it’s viral because people aren’t actually listening to the source and they’re hearing how someone wrongly interpreted it on Tik Tok.

I've found that I can restore products with hardpan by applying ordinary Scotch tape to the surface, pressing it flush, and peeling it off. I'm losing the top layer of product, but I'm not getting product compression like I would by scuffing it with a spoolie or palette knife

Just for anyone who wants to know, Elf makes a great makeup brush cleaning spray. It doesn't replace washing them and I only use it on brushes that are for powders, but it's great for a lazy way to clean brushes lol. I spray each brush a few times (more for bigger brushes) then I sweep the brush head back and forth on a cheap washcloth (because the texture is rougher) until no more color comes out, then let them dry. They're usually dry within a couple of hours. Plus that particular spray makes them smell good 😆

if you need to shave the “peach fuzz” off your face, use a single or double blade razor and shave DOWN. Use short downward strokes only. It will keep the ends of the hair thin and beveled like they are naturally. Also, your face should be dry. Tap the razor frequently to clear out the hair and skin. Then use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.
