Then when a cuckoo pops up they are so damn loud and obnoxious attracting the predator anyway 😢 but it's so enjoyable to watch. Just watched a video an hour ago the parasitic jerk killed everyone else BUT it's loud GREEDY mouth attracted an owl and got snatched right up. The poor host mom attempted a feeble rescue but she soon will realize the owl did her a favor 💀👀

If you watch enough of these type of videos, you will see that almost always the parent bird waits expectantly for the baby bird to give the parent bird the fecal sack reward for feeding the baby! Nature has covered many needs with this action! 1. It keeps the nest clean of fecies. 2. The baby birds digestive system is not very efficiant and so the undigested proteins and other important vitamins and such are then past into the parent. 3. It helps prevent the nest area being discovered by predetors due to large amounts of droppings in the nesting area. Sometimes the parent bird can be quite demanding of the fed baby to produce the fecal sack reward and will even peck the baby out of frustration of not being given the reward in a timely fashion!!

There’s something so visceral as a human seeing these baby birds from above and just seeing these mouths that are constantly open and pointing upward suddenly shoot up and make all these noises.
