One important correction to this video: The violinist at 5:11, Marta, only had 24 HOURS to prepare and deliver this piece because Fiverr checked the “extra fast delivery” option and it slipped past me and my production team that she was required to do this. It was a miscommunication and I apologize for it. Marta would’ve sounded even better had she gotten a fair shake at this challenge! 👏🏻

5:10 - I love watching people's reacting when they're watching someone play an instrument that they also play. The little facial expressions and smiles of appreciation they do are so telling. And i think we're all the same - I'm sure that all musicians perform these expressions when watching another talented musician playing an instrument that they can play.

No but it is cheating that he has practiced this piece for far longer than a week. I honestly doubt even he wouldve had a much better result in 5 days or so. What separates world class concert soloists from the rest is that they just keep improving almost endlessly when they practice. Until it becomes the magic you hear like on this video.

Rob, I am quite a fan of yours and watch your videos every chance i get. You did an excellent job on playing the God Save the Queen excerpt. I am confident that if you spent the same amount of time practicing and studying the piece, you would have sounded just as good as the concert violinist that you played in the end. I love your depth and articulation of character in each and every note you play. Your musicality is on point and your passion is second to none. The great thing about you and your character as a musician is that you are not a stuffy pompas ass. You demonstrate a warm and down to earth mentality and it endears many of your fans to you. Keep of the great work my friend. Stay strong and stay true to yourself in all you do. May God bless you and your work.

I’m not a violinist, but a pianist and singer, and I must say that I’m amazed at all of this. I’m by no means a professional, I quit after only nine years, where I reached the point of being close to my teachers level, and then I just completely stopped. This makes me want to get back into it and relearn everything, because I’m so amazed at how this music flows and how beautiful it sounds to me now that I’m not learning it myself. I know just how much work this takes, and seeing that I couldn’t do it myself, I bow down to all of you for your great efforts!

Most people have no idea how difficult it is to play a non fretted stringed instrument....especially the Violin ! As you can only rely on muscle memory you need to practice every day which means a massive commitment......my best advice is find a string Orchestra to play with.....this is where the fun and payback for your hard work is really rewarded. My boys went to Saturday Music School and literally cried when they were too I'll to go. It was the same for all the other Students that went too.....they all enjoyed playing together as an Orchestra so much that it made the hours spent practicing much easier 👍

Loved this video. I actually think that you played the piece really well. I also loved how the first lady from Venezuela played it. The sound of her notes had body to them and were really calming even if the tempo was slower than normal. Thank you all for showing us your amazing skills.

Wow, they were all absolutely awesome and courageous! I do not play violin but even I can see how excruciatingly difficult this was with an obvious trade off between tempo and precision. They all made me hold my breath. To be honest Rob, you were nearly the best of the pack, but not quite. I don't want to say which my favorite was though.

When will you learn the rest of the piece, Rob? I liked the challenge. When I took piano I was secretly playing more difficult pieces than what my teacher gave to me because I was bored with what I was given. All of these musicians will probably keep practicing this since they learned it this much. I hope you do too!

I did the same thing in 3rd grade when I took piano. It was boring and slow learning each note. After 2 months, I stopped lessons and just played by ear for covers and composed my own pieces by 5th grade. 😊

Wow!!! I have such an appreciation for great talent on the violin now. I don’t play but I could hear the tempo differences and the style each person added to it. Yours was faster than the others but your pauses at just the right spots made it more beautiful almost like you are breathing the phrases. Wow

For me, $73.50, love her clean sound. Was a tad slow on some parts, but she picked up the tempo in other parts and this contrast gave life and color to the piece. The fact that she accepted the challenge means that she's a classical musician at heart. Bravo!! I always strive to stay halfway between the bridge and fingerboard, but she stayed kind of close to the fingerboard. I guess this has to do with her technique for getting those rapid changes in intonation.
