These devs have mastered a niche yet strangely lucrative business model of making first person shooter game based off of 80s movies and it’s strange to see them be so successful.

They did a piss-poor job with their first game Rambo from 2014 but they've really done a good job evolving and strengthening their craft since then. It's the fate I wish for any and every developer that struggles with making something decent at-first.

This is what people mean when they say they want lower budget games... if that AAA crash is really happening, this type of game will thrive, which I'm ok with. Really feels like the devs had fun, even if it's not the best ever
@novelezra6 ай бұрын
That crash is going to happen. The bloat is getting severe and games like Baldurs Gate 3 are showing the executives that most gamers are losing interest in modern live service schlock (they lost interest years ago but BG3 is the kind of game that made higher ups take notice). I think we are going to start seeing larger game publishers take some risks again. Maybe EA will let Bioware do something that isn't a live service nightmare and maybe Microsoft will start using some of the smaller IP's that they now own. Maybe they will finally let Rare make another game that isn't that pirate game. Maybe Activision and Ubisoft will release something that's not dog shit.

@@tedpilledtonysoprano5512 The only thing I don't trust his opinions on is when he talks about difficulty. There were too many instances in past reviews we're he was over blowing how hard certain sections or bosses were because of either ignorance or poor play. Metroid Dread especially comes to mind, when he complained about the purple EMMI and how unfair and hard is to pass that section due to it being mostly submerged, without realizing that there's magnetic walls everywhere to zip to with the grapple beam. And given that he openly admits to not being very sure when criticizing this kind of thing by either checking the gameplay of streamers or using google to look up if other people have similar issues kinda says it all. I still love his videos and highly value all of the other things he has to say about any given game, product or service. I loved this game. I feel like the gangster writing and vocal performance serves valuable utility beyond being 'Milhouse Funny'. The enemies are Dumb. 9:19 - Weird. I played through the whole game on PC right around when it was released, after the very first patch, and I never encountered this bug on PC. Though the only time I really used full auto was one of the last PCBs were it is paired with the auto loader so perhaps the bug is PCB specific. Actually I'm surprised how many bugs you encountered. I encountered some but not this many. The big issues I found was that it appears the game was rendering the lighting very extremely in that things would go from well lit to the darkest pits of hell. Like the front of the police station is pitch black. I played it on Windows 10 on a GPDWIN4. The first model, with the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U with integrated graphics. The one thing I did encounter were crashes when loading cinematics, but that seems to have some relation to graphics settings though the behavior was inconsistent.
@Silvergun_Raven6 ай бұрын
I only encountered three specific bugs: Corpses talking after they die, Auto-saves disappearing when exiting the game (happened twice), and the game running at 5fps when launching for the first time, which, was fixed by changing the frame rate from Unlimited to 60. Overall, a fantastic freaking game and I can't wait to see what they come up with next (hope it is an Aliens game with marines).

9:19 Good review overall, but one thing you overlooked: there was a button for changing firing modes on weapons. X in this case. You can see it hidden in the HUD in the bottom-right. I crave games just being games like this again. Things like this and Ghostrunner give me hope that we can head back in the direction of fun for the sake of fun. It's a step up from a true indie in terms of budget and scope and honestly at times visually stands up against AAA in some instances. I hope this team after they're finished up with this racing game they're doing and after the response this had they can go on to make more stuff like this because this is what I think is needed to give a little shot back to the industry.
