The Mega Drive and Master System versions of this game were super violent for the time. Enemies pretty much burst into a huge chunky explosion of blood non-stop. It's hilarious.

NES MAN They look similar up until you play it. Partly because it seemed to run more smoothly. The Genesis also had proper sized models. The Ed-209 is 20% bigger than the SNES version. The SNES had more detail color on the models and backgrounds, but the Genesis models were more colorful and looked crisper as a result. It's one of the few games that Genesis proved to be better. Aladdin is another game that comes to mind.

The original Robocop unrated on Bluray is one of my favorite things to watch in all its glory. Would've loved to have seen a proper vs movie between the two back in the late 80's early 90's if possible

+josh tagge No the AVGN videos take a lot more time to create scripts, shoot, and edit. These James & Mike Mondays are much easier to crank out in terms of content. I love AVGN vids but appreciate the constant stream of content as well.

I have this game on my Sega Genesis. And I think it's more fun: you gotta fight Terminator as the first boss and there's whole bunch of weapons that do different things instead of this boring "just shoot straight" thing.

In the comic, Robocop uses his data spike to take over an abandoned Skynet robot factory and upgrades himself with terminator technology, and uses scarp to build his own anti-terminator army. The comic came out in the 90's from Dark Horse comics and it is extremely good. All full of badass slug matches, weaponry, Robocop and terminators tearing each other to bits, and I think Frank Miller did the artwork.

True enough. I'm almost sure that "girder" is industry-specific. Example: when ordering steel you might ask for I-beam steel of certain specifications. Whereas a girder is an I beam that is used to fulfill a particular application. This is just speculation really. I've never built a steel frame building, but I have worked in a metal shop. If any stereotypical New York area construction workers watch this video, and want to explain what a girder (goida) is please comment .

I remember this game was always the one in the demo units for both the Genesis and SNES at the Hollywood Video in my neighborhood. Lots of good memories playing this, as well as X-Men 2 Clone Wars on Genesis as well there.

I remember playing the Mega Drive/Genesis version of this game when I was a kid and the two versions seem like night and day. The graphics and presentation of the Mega Drive version seem so much more visceral (helps that the game wasn't censored like the SNES version was) and I don't remember the platforming being quite so iffy. It's also hilarious when you shoot a goon in the MD version and he explodes with way too much gore.

The idea James had for movies having different endings for each theater was actually done with Clue.

At 3.01 its not a glitch or w.e its a trick. If you shoot the machine (Air con?) on the roof to the top right, you get an invincibility bonus for the ED-209 fight. They allow you to jump over so you can collect it.

Here I hoped the way better Genesis version. And I actually prefer the SNES as a console, but the Genesis version of this game was much more hardcore than the SNES one. Had more gore, the gameplay was smoother and the graphics more gritty.

The game was based on a comic series published by Dark Horse and drawn by the great Walter Simonson. The concept was essentially that RoboCop unintentionally made SkyNet self aware by jacking into SkyNet with his data spike. It was a pretty well done story and hung together pretty well. I recommend to anyone, go back and read it.

That is actually an amazing idea for a movie. to have multiple endings and have it randomize to the theater. Then when you buy the Blu-ray DVD at home you can choose the ending.

awesome, this is based on a 4 issue limited edition series of comic books from dark horse. if i remember correctly the actual story was pretty good and i always thought that it would make a kick ass cross over movie if done right. i picked that game up back then just because of the comic books.

The Sega Genesis version actually has a lot of items that will refill your health and you respond back where you died instead of being sent back to the beginning of the level. Sure the bosses take so dam long to beat, but at least the enemies don't.

the genesis one was AMAZING amounts of Gore, and reminded me the whole Nintendo Censorship era. It wasn't half bad, but also reminds me the problems of that era when character sprites were too large and had too many leaps of faith.

I know, right? I only played the Genesis version, and I assumed that the SNES would be the same game, but with the usual hardware differences (blurry graphics instead of grainy, muffled audio instead of tinny, etc.). It's not as "night and day" as the Shadowrun games, but... damn.

Yeah, I'm a deep Nintendo fan too, but I'm not blind to the sheer quality of the Genesis in anyway. They should have put their bias aside for a sec, and played the Gen version. Speaking of which, they could also stand to branch out and play some classics like the Shinobi games, Ristar, Rocket Knight Adventures or something.

ristar is a grey area. the second stage relies way too much on number memorization and the control are wonky. can't remember how many times I died

My favourite thing about RoboCop is all the cheesy phrases he would come out with. “We can’t have that” is a personal highlight :)

Making a versus movie with different endings and distributing both to theatres would be a great idea. It would really add suspense to the whole thing, and make it impossible to spoil.

The Genesis version is a lot better. Graphics are less detailed but more vibrant. Gameplay makes it feel a little like Gunstar Heroes, it controls a lot better. Then of course, all of the enemies explode into blood.

Should've played this on sega just because it's drenched in blood. everyone explodes in tons of gore, heads pop off and everything.
