Thanks for the review. Got a quick question: what is the working height? I know it is 9.65 cm high, but I don't know if that is the maximum height (where the LIDAR sensor is) or the minimum height. I currently have a Xiaomi Mi Robot vacuum. With our new kitchen it is just low enough to push itself below the drawers in the cabinet and then scratches its way out of there. Would be nice if the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is either high enough it will bump into the drawers and move along or low enough to go under them and find its way out of there without leaving any scratches. Great review. I'm just about to jump but still torn between the S8 Pro Ultra and S7 MaxV Ultra. Do you know if the mopping pads on the S8 Pro Ultra are the same as the S7 MaxV Ultra? Have you heard concerns that the S8 can scratch wooden floors? Since most of my house is wooden floors, this is a big concern for me. Thanks!

These are high end robots, they do not scratch the floor at all.

Tony I went with the s7 today. The s7 has higher suction, cleans better on hard floors, and has the remote camera feature which I personally want to check on pets. The dock doesn't look as nice, but why have it in a visible part of the house anyway. And the s8 is more expensive. Only way someone might justify it is if their house was all carpet, but then there are probably better options. That's my opinion anyway 👍🏻

Hi Tony -- I haven't heard concerns that the S8 scratches wooden floors, but wasn't something I was able to test given my home is primarily tiled. Echoing other comments, this is a high-end machine and not a first-gen model. My rugs, carpet, and tile flooring were never scratched or damaged during testing. The S8's suction is 6000Pa while the S7s is 5100Pa. There are a few other differences, but not many. - Beth, video host
