Nice work! Still could use some polish. Have you considered re-animating scenes from the cartoon and using the audio from those scenes? For instance the first attack on Macross island done scene for scene? That I think would get a lot more attention to your work!

The Quadluun Rau is a powered suit. It does not have a cockpit that the person sits in like that. It also does not walk with a strut, what is the pilot listening to Staying Alive while walking?

Buddies and me played the Robotech RPG for years (prior to moving heavily into Rifts, and now Savage Rifts. Whenever the party started thinking they were bad ass aces, I'd throw a few female power armors at them and retire most of their VFs and Destroids.

Headcannon is that when the Alpha and Betas were being developed, the FPA suits were inspiration for the stupid number of missiles those mechs had.

Was that the MAC 2 Monster? I don't recall them being able to transform from a shuttle, but still very cool (one of my all time favorite ridiculously absurd Mecha designs). I do prefer the classic glossy red of the female Zentradi from the 80s series to this grey look, though.

This would have been great to see a modern Mirya Parino (Jenius) before she married Max and became one of its most celebrated people! Mirya joined the human cause and trained a generation of Earth's finest Veritech pilots. With an equally famous family of both pilots and celebrities including Mayor Mirya Jenius from Macross 7, Mylene of Fire Bomber fame, Maiya commander of Skull Squadron, and a grandchild Mirage who is in Delta Platoon and part of Walkure. (And possibly has a latent talent similar to her famous aunt Mylene, but is too shy to show it). The fact that both races unified and are now part of a massive Galactic Republic, has been extremely beneficial to the humans. It has produced celebrities such as Ranka Lee, Mylene Jenius, Veffidas Feeze, and Silvie Gina (ace pilot). So much good history and story lines.

It's hard the make the difference between Macross and Robotech. Even though the meca are the same, they have different names. Here in the US we use the Robotech names: Quadrano Powered armor for the female elite warriors like Miriya and Powered armor suits for the Men) Also the MAC 2 Monster was not a transformable mecha. It was huge and heavy. The ones that we see in this video are much smaller and maneuverable ( I do love them though)

Powered suits makes legs redundant since the pilot would had its legs crunched by the weight of the suit. This is why videogame heroes in powered suits are in model of robocop where partial parts of the body has been replaced with the interface of the suit. This is vaguely mentioned in starship troopers when Johnny Rico meet a veteran Mobile Infantry recruiter who has no legs.

@@robertagren9360 Yet clearly in the Anime it is a POWERED SUIT. Also, your explanation is incorrect. A person's legs would not be crunched by the suit. Because it is a powered suit the suit itself is taking the weight. - Here is an example: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gcWan8los6jJmJc.html at 1 minute and 7 seconds Miriya gets into the suit. - Robocop is a CYBORG, not a powered suit. His limbs are actually REPLACED. Watch the anime and you would know that there is the Quadlun Rau power suit for the females and the Nousjadeul-Ger for the males.

@@robertagren9360 Power armor supports its own weight, not the wearer. The exoskeleton moves itself via servo motors. The character in Starship Troopers was an infantryman who lost his legs in combat, not a power armor pilot who had them removed on purpose. The film does not in fact have the powered armor from the original novel - it was removed in order to make the infantry more vulnerable and weak. (Since they were not intended to be heroic in the film - it was satirical. They were brainwashed fascists.)

Those are later variable versions of the MAC II, they were never in "robotech" but the VB-6 König Monster first appeared in the Macross VFX video game, later in Macross Frontier, so its not contemporary to the period depicted in the video, unless its on a colony world and not earth

Fantastic animation, and it gives a visual to a thought i've had about Meltrandi suits for some time. ...And that is a lot of the Meltrandi battlesuits look like the most uncomfortable piece of crap ever designed. 0:12 has a barely passable design, with the visor and neck design severely restricting your vision, and the ones behind the Queadluun have to be a war crime in itself. Meltrandi are _30 feet,_ thats about the height of the mech itself, so they have to scrunch themselves just to sit in the whole thing; spend a bit more budget, and you can a walkable mech like a lighter version of the Queadluun. If i worked for them and they told me to get in those. My resignations coming not long after.
