They probably got confused while looking up info on the band because the guy they mentioned, Erik Grönwall, was a Swedish reality show winner who sang for Skid Row from 2022 to the beginning of 2024, after which he left to go battle leukemia. If you google "Skid Row singer" though, he's the first one on the list (because he's the most recent, I guess).

Robin,was that not THE best show ever?!!!! Brings back some great memories!! My husband and I LOVED that show and we never missed any of the episodes from the first to the last. We still miss that show so much!! No matter what genre in rock,heavy metal,death metal,etc. it was played on Head Bangers Ball. And four hours wasn't long enough!! And the first time Skid Row released this video I saw it on that show. Yes I drooled in front of the TV when this video played 🤣

This is Sebastian Bach, who is the original singer. I stopped listening to Skid row after he left the band. But Sebastian is back with some of the original members of Skid row. Check out his song ' What do I got to lose'. He is still one of the best vocalists around.

*Skid Row - 'In A darkened Room' is a must. I know how much children and protecting children mean to the both of you. It's a hauntingly beautiful song with a great message. Also Skid Row may have kept the name after Sebastian but they weren't Skid Row without him. They went from sold out arenas and stadiums with him to playing clubs and bars without him.*

Lzzy Hale, the frontwoman of the band Halestorm, will fill in as Skid Row’s lead singer for four concerts, the band announced this week. The Skid Row concerts featuring Hale are May 17 in Carterville, Illinois; May 18 in Riverside, Iowa; May 31 in Reno, Nevada; and June 1 in Sacramento, California.

OMG that sounds so amazing.... I am sadly nowhere near any of those shows. Halestorm's cover of Slave to the Grind is freakin' amazing, and the performance she did of the song she did live with Bach was even better. Sebastian Bach is the original singer of Skid Row and the only one that ever mattered. One of the best bands of their era they need to put their differences aside and do a reunion tour with all the original members it's been way too long the fans deserve it.

Gronwall has only been in the band since 2022 they've had a few different singers and they've all been ok but Sébastien Bach is the lead singer on this song and all of their most popular stuff his voice is phenomenal. I saw them in concert back in the 80s and early 90s with him awesome shows I still hold out hope they'll get past their differences and bring him back in the band. Without his voice it just ain't the same to me. But I won't hold my breath lol

I was lucky enough to see Sebastian Bach (lead singer) on Broadway in Jekyll and Hyde. As it is, the soundtrack for that musical is off the charts, but imagine him playing two parts (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) and switching between softer sounds and craziness (Hyde). It was incredible!

Eric Gromwall was thier latest singer, before that was John Solinger. During Skid Row's popularity in the late 80s and early 90s was Sebastian Bach.

THIS is what Skid Row always wanted to do from the beginning. Slave to the Grind is when the band was free to do the hard music they loved. The first album opened the door (the record company wanted more love ballads and soft stuff) but the band went with their gut and wrote a great album. Very talented band. Everyone is badass. And Amber is a hottie! Nice reaction guys.

They're not underrated, they're just forgotten. Since Sebastian Bach left in the mid 90s the were never the same and have been irrelevant ever since. They successfully transitioned from "hair metal" to heavy metal with Slave to the Grind and were poised to be one of the main bands of the era, but without Bach they never found the same level of success.

That 'growl' at the beginning, that you both referenced, has an official metal/hard rock name ... it's called the Primal Scream. There are several singers that do it, and do it WELL (DIO). Some are so guttural it can be scary, some are very sexy, and some are just rage - And the lead singer for Skid Row is Sebastian Bach and fronted the band through their first 3 albums, but was kicked out of the band for having LSD disease (Lead Singer Disease). He was beautiful, could sing and belt out a primal scream ... but was very difficult to work with, according to the other band members. Their 4th album 'Thinkskin' was a come back album and the first to feature Johnny Solinger as the lead singer.

FINALLY you got back to Skid Row!!!!! Slave to the Geind is a must. I can remember having friends over the night this video premiered. In basement shooting pool. I noticed it was almost 9. And we all ran upstairs and piled into my room to see the first single/Video from the new record. Obviously it did not disappoint. There is a TREMENDOUS live version of I remember you that you should do from 1991 in Wembly as well. Good way to revisit a song but also see what's live show was like.

Realize that some of these bands are 30-40 years old and have lineup changes over the decades. When you Google who the singer is you're most likely going to get the current lineup, not the original lineup. Best to dig a little deeper and see who was in the band for that particular album. In this case, the lead singer is Sebastian Bach.

I was 19 years old when this song came out in 1989. That year I seen them live for the first time opening up for Bon Jovi. Seen Sabastian Bach a few years ago and he actually sounded really good, and you could understand what he's saying. I seen Motley Crue later on and Vince Neil sounded like an infant learning to speak in another language

Yeah, Eric took over singing duties in 2022 and left at the beginning of this year to go battle leukemia. All of Skid Row's hits are going to have Sebastian Bach on them, though, because the band sort of fell off the map before any other singers entered the chat. I loved them back in the day but haven't followed them super religiously since then (I didn't even know they continued after Sebastian left). Afaik, Skid Row never had a post-Bach hit.

@@johnplaysgames3120 Good luck to the kid, good that he got that experience too. Yeah the band has had several singers, before Bach even. It seems getting a singer was a requirement for a record deal, that was where the hooked up with Bach. I believe they already had the songs. They continued without him too and said they were happy to play small venues. Getting back with Sebastian is not a possibility. Bach on the other hand is just itchin' to go.

You should check out their performance of this song at Wembley Stadium in 1991 for a great example of their energy and stage presence. Probably being one of the last times any of the hair bands could fill an arena and not long before the grunge movement universally killed that whole scene. BTW, If you ever happen to be at the Ralph's market in Studio City CA you might happen to catch Sebastian Bach there shopping for groceries(or wine). You'll know him not just by his height but because he will likely be the only over the hill rocker to shop there that doesn't have his long thinning hair dyed jet black.Those guys might have looked more like girls than guys way back when but nowadays most of them look like they could be someone's grandma.

Sebastian Bach!!!! He was the lead singer on the first two albums and basically IS SkId Row. They tried to carry on without him, didn’t really do much. The guy you speak of was one of a few lead singers after Seb, but the main success and what they’re known for is with Seb Bach.

Skid row is definitely a hard rock band/heavy metal band. The thing is that the record labels would only release ballads as singles to appeal to a larger audience. Check out their other stuff it rocks hard!!

The Skids are actually a different band. A punk band from my hometown in Scotland, Dunfermline with my mate Stuart Adamson on guitar who went on to form Big Country. Brilliant band, check em out. PS I absolutely know what you meant I just cannot resist any chance to big up Stuart's music. If you like NFL, the NO Saints actually run out to their song The Saints Are Coming.

Ok. I can let Sebastian being called the wrong name slide. But Skid Row is my ALL TIME favorite band. And Sebastian my all time favorite singer. They can't keep a lead singer to save their life after Baz left. But let me tell you he is so fun to see solo. Yes, he is not young anymore. But he is hilarious at concerts. So interactive with the crowd. I was lucky enough to meet the OG Skid Row outside of Hard Rock in Dallas in 1995. They were all so nice and talked to everyone, except Rachel (the bass player). After he signed autographs, he went to sit in the car alone. If you get a chance, watch them live at Wembley. Sebastian is such a great frontman. 😍
