This was incredible. I was 11 yo. I had a GE phonograph that played 16/33/45 rpm with a plastic tone arm. A Single One 1/2" speaker. I had this 45, "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things". I played it hundreds of times, such innocence, loveliness. This brought a tear to me, on my 68th birthday month.

It's called the Happy Together Tour because it is named after a huge hit by The Turtles who are the headliners on the tour which has happened every year for the last 14 years. The Cowsills have been the opening act for many years now.. Fun Fact: The drummer in the video is their brother, John Cowsill, who until recently was a member of The Beach Boys for over 20 years eventually becoming their drummer. He is married to Vicki Peterson from The Bangles who you have reacted to multiple times.

The Cowsills rocked my world. I was tuned into their music as a 7-year old (1967) and haven’t left. The 60s was an era like no other and much of the music spawned within is timeless. ‘The Rain, the Park and Other Things’ is one of those. Imaginary or real, its story immediately creates a visual, and one that i continue to see today. The harmonies are also incomparable. It’s a song that immediately brings back memories of my youth. Finally got to meet Bob, Paul and Susan at their show in Vegas in 2023 and it definitely completed a circle for me. They are part of my life’s DNA.

Thank you this brought back one my favorite memories from the 70's when I was working in a recording studio. Billy Cowsill had his own solo career going and was at the studio recording a new album. It was time to backing vocals on Billy's album and he said his brothers would be coming in the next night to sing for him. The next night Billy shows up early and we ask him how many mic's do you want for doing the background vocals because most the multiple mic's were used. Billy said one mic is all we need we were surprised, he said we've been singing together a long time and we know how to sing together. So the brother shows up and we start recording and it was the most amazing sound, watching them work that one mic to balance themselves with each other and move in and out to create dynamics. What a incredible night hearing and watching the Cowsill brothers record vocals.

I love this song! Hope J and Amber don't trash it 😊 Now if ya'll will please do the studio version of this song. Ya'll missed alot of beautiful strings and even the harp missing in this live, shortened version. Please and Thank you ❤😊

I fell in love with the studio version of this song when it came out, and have replayed it over the decades, and it is pure sunshine. But after I saw the band as older people playing the hell out of it...that became my go-to version...which I have suggested to other reviewers, like Mr. Shawn, who loved both versions, as well as the Polyphonic Spree. I hope they come to Charlotte, where the song was voted #1, beating even hometown James Taylor's Fire and Rain. Flower girl...meet Flower girl. Beautiful garden.

As a kid when I'd heard this on my transistor radio for the first time It made me cry at the thought of a magic girl appearing to a guy just to let him know he was loved.

Kathie says…This song for Me, back in 1967, brought me happiness during a very sad, hard time in my life (moving to a new school my junior year, after growing up in my old school since kindergarten.) because of this song, I started painting tiny flowers on the right side of my face next to my eye. (with my blue and purple liquid eyeliner). I started a trend with girls wanting me to paint flowers by their eyes during lunch hour. I made some new friends and although this was still a very sad time in my life, This song helped me smile through my tears. I am so happy that you covered this Beautiful Song by The COWSILLS!! 😘🌸👩🏻‍🦳

I saw The Cowsills in Clearwater, Fl a few year ago! They sound as good as when I was a kid! Susan was a definite crush! People forget they also sang the theme to Love American Style. Check out Indian Lake when you get a chance

I had a "thing" for Susan during this era. We dated. She never knew and wasn't present, but,....I digress. Loved this family group from my era. Thanks guys for doing this, and thanks Cowsills for having the grace to join the Squad for this vid.

The Cowsills are the greatest! I'm addition to their excellent work in the family band, Susan, Barry and Billy also did some fine solo albums. Susan is a member of a wonderful band called the Continental Drifters which still performs periodically. Check out the excellent documentary about the Cowsills. Their manager father was abusive and basically destroyed the band, but they overcame it all through their love for each other and their love of music. Incredible people!
