What do you guys think? Was this a miss from Roccat by making it 81 grams?
@gnosiszy2 жыл бұрын
IMHO I'm kind of disappointed by the weight. I wasn't expecting an ultralight mouse (not everyone needs a sub 50g xD). That said, after using a wide range of light and ultralight mouses and having no problem switching between 50g and 80g mouses, I can't really get used to over 80g mouses anymore without feeling strains on my hand (maybe I've become weak?). Even after trying some over 80ish mouses for some weeks. Roccat mouses aren't easy to get in my country and importing can became a hassle if I've to return the mouse, so I'm afraid to try end up not being able to use it (maybe risking an easy battery mod in case). About the debounce for optical, could be to prevent click slam when you are repositioning your mouse on the surface. I remember Razer having some trouble with this in the first firmware versions of the Viper and IIRC they used debounce for while until moving to another solution later. Maybe there is some info (about the Razer case) in the reddit, 3 years ago, no sure. Edit: english is hard /s

@@gnosiszy Totally, agree going back and fourth between 50 - 80 grams isn't too difficult. Obviously you can feel it. But I've just found that my aim isn't as accurate the higher in weight I go. My wrist doesn't really feel it but my scores sure do. I definitely think if they would have stayed low 70's it would have been better. Also, totally get the difficult of whether or not to buy a product that is hard to return. Especially, when it is expensive. As for the debounce delay. I'll have to look into that. I know Razer's optical switches suffered from higher than average defect rate so they improved them but don't think I was aware of the debounce thing. But I see where you are coming from. But even then most of the time they can program it so when the mouse lifts off the surface that it turns on a debounce delay and then turns it off when it is reading a surface to prevent that from happening. So maybe that is what they mean by that and allow you control over it? I'm also wondering if they just have a "preset" where every mouse that is plugged in shows the same settings and can be adjustable even if it is optical? Interesting food for thought. And dude, English is hard. lol

I love the mouse, one of the best I've held in my hand. the 81 gr are perfect for me. It reacts lightning fast, the workmanship is solid and still looks sexy. but it is not for very large hands. I will gladly recommend you further

Yeah, it's actually crazy the amount of tech that goes into some of these gaming mice. And the difference between a cheap one and an expensive one is more than you'd realize. But that doesn't necessarily make it worth it for everyone. Really comes down to the use case.

I absolutely am able to get this mouse to double click, if i roughly tap to the left or right edge of the mouse.
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
I don't really understand how that is possible. Seeing as it is light that is causing the actuation to happen.
@Layarion Жыл бұрын
@@ThomasMuehler idk, but i google "double click mouse test page" and i lift my finger up, and then bring it down at a medium force (compared to say, slamming my finger down) on the edges, and it semi-consistently gets a double click from that. which makes me wonder if i want to return this mouse. also i don't like that this brand's mouse remapping software doesn't support f13-f20 keys for push to talk. edit: actually i tested it again, and i can get it to happen with a light amount of force. i can physically feel it bouncing under my finger. edit2: also i'm using the roccat burst pro, and the software doesn't have the debounce option.
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
@@Layarion That is really interesting. I'm not sure what is happening there. But does sound like some sort of defect as that shouldn't be possible with optical switches. Maybe they removed the debounce option? I'm not sure but I've always seen in there software even with that mouse. But again, there shouldn't be a debounce with optical switches. I say shouldn't, there is, but doesn't need to be very long compared to mechanical switches. So usually it doesn't matter if that option is there as it doesn't really do anything. But we are getting into the nitty gritty that gets complicated. Main point, optical switches shouldn't be double clicking, and the software having a debounce delay also usually doesn't do much just do to how it works. If you are getting weird stuff then something is wrong regardless.

I need 4 side buttons!

That would be a good balanced wouldn't it. I'm not aware of too many mice that have four side buttons.

Is there any difference between this coating and the burst pro ait
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
It's been a while since I made this video. This isn't one of my main mice. Semi-recently my basement flooded so all my gear has been moved so I have no idea where it would be so I can't test it. That preface out of the way, I believe it is the same coating.

@@ThomasMuehler ty. Did you notice any problems with latency?
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
@@Lumidon As mentioned in the video "Latency from my testing is slightly above average but on the slower side for an optical switch." Translated that means it is somewhere near the front part of the middle compared to all the mice I've tried and for most people probably won't be an issue.

Lower debounce time helps with Minecraft
@xero10222 жыл бұрын
@@RandomGuy041 no, it doesn't, but double clicking does, even though people who use it still suck at the game.
@ThomasMuehler2 жыл бұрын
@@RandomGuy041 Right.. so an optical switch with no debounce time would be best. So why would I want to increase my debounce time?
@ThomasMuehler2 жыл бұрын
@@xero1022 Agreed. I can see the double clicking argument. But optical switches are going to eliminate double clicking (when you cheese it) and I don't see how having a higher debounce would help that either as well.. again it helps prevent double clicks from happening.
