Beautiful tour of the castle and cathedral, Brett and Alessa! The castle was so well preserved for the age with it's history. Seems like so many are destroyed and then rebuilt over time. Loved seeing it and the even older cathedral! Remarkable. Loved learning about their past. Great drone footage once again! Thanks so much for bringing us along.

@@PinnedonPlaces Thanks for your well wishes. We currently live in Kenosha Wisconsin which is in the southeast part of the state. We're in our 70's now and our sons felt we should live closer to one of them. Kathy's Alzheimer's is progressing and we can't travel, take care of a house, and most importantly Kathy so we agreed. We're moving to Peoria IL which is about 200 miles southwest from Kenosha. Our oldest son lives there and we'll only be about a 5 minute drive away. We going to start by renting a lovely 2 bedroom apartment. It will still be about the same drive to northern Wisconsin in Bayfield where I'm from and my mother still is. Once this move is done (should be next Thursday, and we've already taken possession of the apartment) we will continue our travels without worrying about a house back home! If we decide apartment life isn't for us we will re-evaluate in a year when our lease expires.

I think it sounds like you're doing the right thing in terms of moving closer to family but what i really admire about you two is you seem to go and live your lives and do what you want to do and see these amazing places. Your life story is really interesting and i wish nothing but the best for you and Kathy, ya'll are amazing. I really hope the move goes smoothly.. or as smooth as moves can go hehe and your able to settle a little in a new place, all my love xx

Liked #89, very cool fortress/tower! I believe this is the first time I've seen a castle/fortress from your videos that are near a town. There is literally a cross road next to the towers. Beautiful footages of the fortress tower and the surrounding small town! Catherdral walkaround was also nice. Thank you!!! 😎 👍

Hi and thanks, Pinned on Places for taking us on a walking tour to Rochester Castle which I have never been to. I love seeing the aged and weathered architecture @1:16! It's quite a view from the 6 @3:23. This path looked a little narrow @4:57. Switching to the drone footage is very effective @7:17. What's a stunning Cathedra that has been well-maintained l! Hi friends, only had time to watch today 😅. It's awesome to finally be able to have a comprehensive tour inside the keep after having seen it plenty times in books and online in the past. Looks like a solid 10 for us. Cathedral was stunning as well, beautiful architecture ☺️. Take care, friends!

Many years ago on my first visit to the UK I stayed with a friend who lived lived near Rochester and we went and had a look at the cathedral, for some reason I have no memory of the castle! So it was good to see it through your video.

Thanks for sharing the video, I used to live just of the hill from the Castle in the early 90s and ive not been back since i left. This has brough back fond memories of hot summer days walkin galong rochester High Street for a cold beer and a wander around the castle. Fabulous, thank you.

Thanks for doing this video! We really want to go to Kent and have several castles there we want to explore! But we probably won’t get there this summer. The cathedral is gorgeous! Interesting that it is the second oldest. And I was blown away by the castle! How noteworthy that it is the tallest keep! Really amazing! The sad part is hearing about the looting of the cathedral and using the castle site as a quarry!

This has been a great castle guys, and again with a great history, I love that inner hall, very inspiring, I am sometimes "working" as a "story teller" or "dungeon master" on role playing game competitions, and I already got ideas how I would use this view and the structure in a story :) This is quite a nice and unique castle! The Cathedral looked majestic too, it looks similar - at least for me - to the castle itself, surely with a long and eventful history behind.

That was brilliant you guys 👍👍😍😍. The Castle is huge!! All those floors and rooms too - can imagine it was a good location for William to fortify - stunning place And the Cathedral is beautiful. Again you can imagine why it’s the second oldest in the country. The Normans would have established their control from the South East out I would guess. Stunning places Thanks for sharing Alessa and Brett, and the drone footage as always gives us an extra perspective of the location you have described!! Great stuff

I think may have a new favourite guys, first of all it’s an absolute stunning castle. Great tower as you walk in is just …. We’ll great .. But you know more than the look of it the history is what I liked the most, the idea of digging that tunnel to bring the keep down !! Brett of course showed the site off perfectly from the sky. Then we get a two 4 one … loved the cathedral to be so old is was bound to be full of history too, Honestly guys your videos just go from strength to strength and if you’ve not hit that 1k before you go up Scotland you will smash it when you start dropping them vids Catch you both soon ❤️❤️❤️🥾😍⛺️
