Part of "My Little Rock Band!", a game-modding project aiming to bring pony-related music to Rock Band 3.

This took a lot longer than I expected to chart, simply because it was a teensy bit difficult to discern the audio from the rest of the track, even with the BGM track I pulled from the 5.1's of the EqG Blu-Ray. That, and I was running around the east coast for the first time in my life while also trying to juggle stuff for work. (No, I don't think I'll ever get a proper vacation. T^T)
My favorite part of authoring this, by far, was getting creative with the venue track; I had a lot of fun designing the lighting and animations for this one. I'm really proud of it!

FIXED (v3): 2:45 Descending toms replaced with a single crash.
FIXED (v3): 3:06 "HEY!" lyric in Harmony 2 changed to non-pitched lyric.
FIXED (v4): Vocals completely revised. Notes moved around and retimed, more slide notes added, tubes shortened.
FIXED (v4.1): Added some missing hi-hat cymbal hits to the drum sections during the 3rd chorus
FIXED (v4.1): Added double tom hits to parts such as 2:52

The process is actually quite easy, and all you really need is a flash drive (or two) and a physical copy of Rock Band 3. It's also not illegal, and won't get you banned from Xbox Live or your console bricked. =)
Sorry, no support for PS3 or Wii.

Here's my suggestion: For the bridge of the song, all of the members (excluding the drummer) should clap in unison. If playing 1-player vocals, during the bridge there is a chance you can hear the audience clapping in rhythm, even if your Overdrive meter is not active.

1:24 is when Flash's guitar comes in! Love that part. They took his guitar part and made it the start menu music on the "Dash for the crown" game on the hasbro game sight.

I just reworked the vocal track for all three parts! I was able to FC it on Expert myself, so hopefully that means it's balanced this time around. =)

Yay, intro percussion! Also that is some really clever and subtle video editing with the venue there! I noticed a few things: at 3:06, HARM2 should be a talkie, the choruses could probably need more vocal slides on the notes like "jump" and "sound" and the outro acoustic guitar could probably be charted once the last electric guitar note is finished playing. Looks pretty good otherwise!

That's gonna take a while. I still have to write a script, plan shots, and animate the B-Roll. And it's not gonna be a comprehensive tutorial, it's gonna be a quick behind-the-scenes. A show-and-tell, if you will. A comprehensive tutorial would take absolutely forever; the process is complex and filled with technicalities. You'll see why when I release the BTS.

I did my best, but the Rock Band character creator isn't exactly robust. No multicolored hair options, not many hair styles, and a pretty strange selection of clothing.

The game only lets you select solid colors. I just picked blue, since that's the same as her coat color, and tried to replicate the rest of the color variety in her clothes (which is similarly limited in how many colors you can apply to it).

*sigh* Yeah, it's challenging charting vocals without an isolated acapella. The sound mixers mixed the movie really weirdly, and like 90% of the vocals during the verses are mixed into the instrumental track. =( I'll put a polish run on the list for a v4 release, and hopefully that'll be my last release. Thanks for the feedback!

The downloadable copy has the latest title update hardcoded into the game, making it unmoddable. There's no possible way to roll it back to Title Update 4. I definitely suggest seeing if you can find a used copy on Craigslist or eBay instead.

This was the best EQG song, shame the designer can't give rainbow her actually hair, though Red/Yellow/Orange would be better then the blue since is't the mane colour of her EQG hair, oh well they try their best.

The game doesn't allow multicolored hair for most hair styles. This one in particular only allows for one.

And yeah, good eye! I actually do a bit of video editing for all of my song videos (spent HOURS on The Way She Flies, since that was my first track with stems and it needed to be PERFECT); I record multiple passes because some of the pre-selected directed cuts can be... pretty awful. xD Most people don't notice because this is the only one where I've done separate recordings with different musicians on stage each time.

Okay, I may just be a total dumb-head here, but.. I have a lot of custom pony songs downloaded, and I'm not getting any animation on the characters. Admittedly, I'm really not far into the game "story"-wise, so if I need to progress, and 'make it to this stage', or whatever.. Yeah. Is it required that I really buckle down and actually progress far enough, or am I just missing something? To clarify, the band members sometimes play their instrument (The other times, they're through walls or standing wherever), but there isn't any of the cinematic appeal the rest of the game typically has, sooo..

Rock Band 3's already been released for PS3 (and Wii). I think what's being asked for is the ability to mod PS3 versions of the game with custom music, which hasn't been done yet for the platform. There's research being done (send DracoAzule a message, I think he's been looking it up), but I don't know the specifics, nor can I really spare the time to learn about them.

Good work on this song for Rockband 3. One of my favorite games still on Xbox360. : ) I´ve also just Watch Movie this song is coming from and i love it alot. : ) Its shame that Harmonix dont release more songs after American Pie. If this song was released normally in Rockband Network i would buy it directly. ^^ *sends a hug to Rainbow Dash* she is my favorite now. :D

Most of the songs I've done so far aren't available for Guitar Hero 3, with the exception of Fluttershy's Training Montage. Takes too much work for me to port them between the games.

No, the toys are smooth plastic. The characters in the show are implied to have coats, but it doesn't look like it due to the simplified cartoony art style.

You should put a notice that only copies of Rock Band 3 released BEFORE 2011 will work as all copies produced after Title Update 5 came out have the update built into the software

Even though I do agree with what you say so do I know that that would take alot of time and effort for someone for very little profit or fun (as I think this project was mainly made for). Understand that projects like this takes alot of time and effort for the ones making it.

If you head over to creators dot rockband dot com they have all the tools and downloads you need and a massive wiki explaining the process behind every single element of Rock Band authoring. It's an official, Harmonix-supported process, so their documentation is the most robust you'll find on the internet.

Okay after playing this on vocals I am sad to say you need to clean this up some. Nearly all the note tubes in the choruses are too long and I didn't even manage to get 5 stars (and I can FC all the Serj Tankian and Tenacious D songs), so you should go and shorten and adjust the tubes

It's a modified version of Rock Band 3 for Xbox 360. If you have a Harmonix-era copy of the game, you can download the song file onto a flash drive and play it.

I spoke to them last week. In a dream. They said that, while They are aware of Chris-Chan's antics, being omniscient, they have never actually spoken to him personally, and that he should cut that shit out. Apparently Godjesus himself is embarassed at what a mess Chris has managed to make out of life. Godjesus told me, in a dream, he'd strike the stupid fucker down tomorrow, only he's having too much fun trolling him. Apparently he's got more of it coming throughout the rest of his life.
