You can also find gold-sheen obsidian out by topaz mountain, and banded obsidian out by the geode beds.

People complain about land and real estate prices in Utah. The federal government owns half the state and most of what they own is BLM land they aren’t doing anything with but holding onto it.

But BLM land is great, anyone can use it recreationally. Rock hounding is one such activity you can do on public land but would have to deal with random people if it was private land.
