I know nothing about Anji but I do know that his song is the *heaviest* track on the OST, somehow. Like; no other track makes me want to get out of my chair and start kicking shit over more than Rock Parade does.

Why does no one realize that the lyrics are referencing guilty gears anther story! The line “Now every footstep carries two hearts” references how Delilah and Baiken are both working to give up on revenge together. And the line “I am still chasing one” refers to how Anji still has feelings towards Baiken. The night of lights where no child can sleep, could be referencing the attacks in on japan that shook the whole world, and fueled Baikens whole arc, while the night of darkness where everyone is asleep could reference how no one knew what is happening to Delilah in comparison.

Also, he is banging Baiken, so like- I don’t really know much about Anji, honestly. I do know his entire family is dead and he did have depression. And this theme is talking about the time he had with someone that changed him for the better. Now it could be talking about Baiken, but it could also be someone who is already dead. But, we just don’t have really anything to go off of. Either way, Anji’s theme is great to listen to and also gives insight on how much he changed from the way earlier games to now. Great vibe, nice drums, and guitar rifts. Definitely great for a rock parade. Certified bop.

Hot take i guess but like I don't think anji is in love with Baiken. He even calls her "sis" half the time. I think hes close to her because of their friendship and shared trauma after the justice attack. This song to me is Anji recalling a promise he made to a dear friend or lover he lost in the justice attack. He must have been celebrating with them at some sort of festival before it was suddenly interrupted by Justice's attack. His small footsteps are all that remained. To me, this song is about Anji wanting to fulfill a promise to a lost loved one, someone so important to him that he fights to bring honor to his life and theirs. It sucks seeing it reduced so often to "AH I LOVE BAIKEN" when theres a lot more meaning behind his reason to move on. As he fights, his geisha style calls back to the festival where he lost so many he cared deeply about.

I swear, by the time it gets to 2:28, it makes you wanna stomp to the beat. Not just tap your foot, but stomp.

Despite the common theory that this song is about anjis relationship with baiken I have a different one: I think the song is about anji steeling the outrage weapon Zessen(his fans) his quest for knowledge and the impact that night goes onto have throughout anji’s. The song begins by describing a parade a night were the trickster(anji) was born I take this in a less literal sense meaning this was the night anji came into his own as a person starting his journey for knowledge to learn about that man a journey which began with him taking the zessen causing the protective barrier around the colonies to weaken and ultimately fail .The song continues to describe later in that night when everyone is asleep and how lonely anji felt I believe that this line is about the guilt anji feels for leaving his village behind and taking one of they’re only source of protection but anji needs to continue they’re are words he needs to turn into facts, he needs to fulfill his promise to himself to seek knowledge and learn more about that man and the world so he continues on despite still carrying this guilt he also carries the joy of the moments i his village with him and these are the sounds and lights blessings him on his journey. The next line is about anjis continued trauma and guilt around this event even if that night is over the music and memories of those moments continue to haunt him “never ends in my head”. But he once again remembers his goal the promise he made and carries on his footsteps carrying to hearts his own goal but also those of the people in his village who he is trying to live for and remember. With the song once again reminding us that he’s still chasing after that goal. However anji in the next line realizes that his search for knowledge is unending that his curiosity will never be sated that his goal is ultimately unreachable.
