5:50 you were actualy very correct when you said that, when tyler released cherry bomb he often talked about how he doesn't like how he's just being placed in this rap/horrorcore box. He was tired of rapping about rape and murder and all the made-up characters and stories and instead focused on the music on this album.

@@bobthepoppop Check out "FUCK IT" by Tyler, that's a track that came out after Cherry Bomb, with an old MIDI type beat, but where Tyler's just freaking laashing out and setting the record straight. Never heard him that angry rapping. FUCK IT is the name of the track. It blew me away how raw he is there, never heard him like that.

Tylers biggest influence is Pharrell Williams and his Rock Band N.E.R.D. This song sounds a lot like them. He always alluded to making music besides rap, just like Pharrell, I think fans that were aware of his influences knew this would happen at some point

Personally, I loved Cherry Bomb it was nice to hear something different. I also feel like a lot of fans were upset about the change but I listened to rock and everything else growing up so maybe that’s why I didn’t hate it so much?? Cherry Bomb is in my top 3 Tyler albums and seeing him perform the songs in concert made it even better.

I enjoyed the rock influences but the album was very sloppy. I would like to hear Tyler's ideas on Cherry Bomb more organized and well planned out like they are on his later albums

i think most people dont have an issue with the genre change, but the horrible production. I know the mixing was bad on purpose but that doesn't make it not bad

That's like complaining about how a Kendrick Lamar album doesn't have a party song and for that reason the album is bad. That isn't a valid reason

The guitar is actually a sample from a different song. Tyler couldn't get the sample cleared in time for the album, so he had to recreate it all last minute

Cherry bomb is an amazing album. Definitely was ahead of its time as it received so much hate when it came out.

if you have free time you should watch the Cherry Bomb documentary and breakdown of the album by him. It's well worth the watch and helps with understanding his process and who he is

also Tyler says on his newest album that this is the time he says he hit puberty and why all over the place Cherry Bomb felt and when he really started to mature and grow into the artist he wanted to be
