Richie Faulkner favorite riffs video is all Hendrix, that's why half of this one is he playing. You can tell he studied everything he could about the guy when he was learning how to play.

Faulkner really has that Hendrix tone nailed. Obviously heavily influenced by him.

Any idea what Wah-Wah he's using? I'm not convinced it's a standard CryBaby, but I could be wrong.

@@trevscribblesprobably a vox, jimi didn‘t use the crybaby, he had a modded vox wah.

@@Godisnotmyshepherd It was modded? Didn't know that. But yeah, the VOX seems to be the way to go. I also saw a review of the CryBaby mini Wah which has a particular setting that sounds WAY more similar than the regular model

I remember playing one of those Hendrix signature Strats in a shop once. It felt REALLY awkward having all the controls above the strings. And people complain about a Strat's volume knob being too close when they're playing it right-side up!

He is and I’m here.. as far as I’m concerned little wing is.. the single greatest song ever.. I had already been playing 10,000 hours before The Dawn of Hendrix fell upon me.. along with single coils. There is no second spot. Hendrix graciously stood in the top three. Sorry for those who haven’t set seen the sun ☀️

Hendrix wasn't a particular influence on me as a player, I much preferred Randy Rhoads or Iron Maiden. But I still knew the main tunes and they were a staple on every covers gig I ever did. But I'm surprised none of them talked about Hendrix's tone, so forward and caustic that every touch of the string was caught, yet fretted notes were so smooth and sang like songbirds. Such a unique sound

Can any good Samaritan out there tell me what Wah-Wah Faulkner is using here? It sounds even closer to the record than Jimi's live performances! It's surely not a standard CryBaby, right? 'Cause mine certainly doesn't sound like that 😅

Not sure what's being used here but I've read that Jimi modified his wah pedal by at least removing the rubber stopper at the bottom front of the pedal to get some extra range lol

For me, it was Little Wing. I took one guitar lesson in my life and the couldn't figure out Little Wing..... So right then and there I decided I would teach myself.

Jimi Hendrix is way overrated... his riffs seem so boring to me, they just dont evoke any emotion at all. But a lot of great guitarists name him as their influence so i guess ive gotta give him respect for that
