Hi 👋 In different Rockford Amps i fixed I used 47 Ohms together with the 3205 for the power supply. Never ran into problems. Sometimes there are 68 ohms which is too high, I believe 22-28 will also be ok. I have a punch 250M where the power supply was toasted , back in 2018 I fixed it with 3205 and 47 ohms, that amp made no problems till today and has to run very hard. I forgot which FETs were in the 60x2 originally. What do you think which problems can occur with 3205 & 47ohms ? I never faced a problem in the last 5 years.

Depending on the (rds) and somewhat the design..the gate resistor should be adjusted..

Saw amps that use the 3205 even with 100 ohms , as long as my drive signal looks nice and amps don’t heat up I use the 47 , if I run out of 47 I use the smaller ones. Think the drive circuits dead time is set different.

I tested it in this way: I have a variable voltage power supply, if I decrease the supply voltage and the idle current stays the same, it’s ok for me. If idle current goes high after decreasing the supply voltage I will reduce the gate resistor, but that wasn’t the case in the amps I had so far.

@@audiokeller1975 you do understand that i worked at rockford . I handbuilt and repaired for them in the late 80s. I left right before the layoffs and machine builds started. Thank god i saw it coming
