Rockford PTO Clutch...Shop Built Puller Used For Disassembly

In this video I will show you a simple shop built puller that is used to remove the clutch assembly from the tapered shaft. A few minutes making a proper puller will save you from breaking anything and make the job much easier than any other method.

Nice puller set up, those hubs can be a real pain. A lot of them lead a hard life in industry, by the time the mechanic gets involved they are usually pretty ugly! Thanks bud!

This unit came off of a very large stump grinder. They were the type of people who greased this unit every day. when I got it opened I had to dig out the grease with my hands just to get at things. Over greasing can be as bad as under greasing. At least nothing is worn out. This type of puller has worked every time for me and once it is made I always have it available for the next one. Great job most people would of made a taco shell out of it with a 2 jaw puller or broken it in half. Love the videos.

I have seen plenty of broken clutches over the years so I decided to show the way I do it. Hopefully it will prevent people from damaging them.

How large did you cut the hole for the base?

Each unit is different. Hole can be any size as long as it clears the shaft and gives good support to the unit when pulling.

Pls, pls stop using AGC selection for audio recording. The levels in this video is the worst on U tube I have ever heard. Invest in a wireless lapel Mike. Info given in this video is a good example of your ingenuity. Thx.
