I always loved the Tubes. Definitely an, if not the avant-garde band of the 70ies and beginning of the 80ies. Death is part of all our lives and the older you get the more you have to realize that these impacts are coming closer and closer the older you get. Thanks for your musical and artistic contribution to this great band. R.I.P. Re Styles. Thanks for sharing! Cheers DimiZ

The Tubes are one of my favorite bands and I first saw them in '83 during the Outside Inside tour. I've also had the opportunity to see them many times over the years, including just last year, the 40th anniversary of Completion Backward Principle. I've seen that show 3 different times over the last couple of years. Great band, Re Styles influenced a local Rhode Island band to add a female dancer/performer to thier lineup, and they even opened for The Tubes during the '83 tour, "The Probers" was the name of that band. RIP, it was nice that you did a piece on her, sad news indeed.

Tubes: one of the great American rock bands. I saw them in Central Park in NYC in '74 or '75 when they did the whole show with the giant cigarette butts and remote control TV head, partial nudity, etc. Then I saw them a bunch of times in the early '2000's at BB Kings paired down somewhat, but still rockin' and kickin' ass. They're a great band with great songs who know how to put on a show and entertain. They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by now if they aren't already. Not to mention...you've gotta be doing something right if Todd Rundgren wants to produce you. Great, great band. R.I.P. Re

Thank you for not killing that spider! Thank you for the video paying tribute to Re. Sometimes we don’t hear about the passing of musicians, unless they’re very famous. I depend on channels such as yours to keep me in the know. Please continue with the music news. It is vital and appreciated very much!💜

Big fan growing up in the Bay Area. Local legends who couldn't really sell albums (or singles) Wild timing that their Remote Control album with its slicker, more accessible production was a launching pad to more commercial success and she just left to live her life. ❤🙏❤Re - watching a motorcycle drive out on stage & The Tubes in varying stages of undress was pretty fucking wild! 🤘😎🤘

Excellent video, John. The song Prime Time is an absolute classic. It was a minor hit here in the UK, reaching No. 34, and it reached No. 49 in Australia, but it didn't even chart in their native USA, or apparently in any other territory. It was their biggest hit featuring Re, and she was one of the co-writers. On my channel I have the best-quality upload of the official music video on the web, and it's now just become my most-viewed video. If you do a search for the song on YT, my video is the first one you'll see. It has HQ audio and optional subtitles for the lyrics. RIP the amazing Re Styles.

So sad to hear. My top two favorite Tube songs are "Don't Touch Me There" and "Prime Time" (T.R.A.S.H album version, which featured Re Styles as the lead vocalist, instead of second lead). She had a gorgeous voice. As much as I liked 'Completion Backwards Principle', I lost interest in The Tubes when she left. Rest in peace.

Pretty sad for us who knew the Tubes. I'd almost call the Tubes a parody band but I wouldn't want to do them any injustice. When they'd parody a big Rock anthem sort of song, it was actually better than what they were parodying! And when Re & Fee sang, Don't Touch Me There it might have been a comedy riff on a "sexy" duet.....but it was actually pretty steamy! Goodbye Re and rest in peace. We all love a gal with a sense of humour!

The way to see "hitting thumbs up " for a video that is bringing bad news is actually a acknowledgement of gratitude for giving the news of the death. That's how I see "liking" a video of a death announcement. You can totally use my decryption to the people who are uncomfortable liking these types of videos.

I went through a big Tubes phase, and got all my friends into them. IMO the 'real' Tubes are only up to the 'Remote Control' album. They were fan-fukin-tastic. And early on when they had Ortega (?) doing the stage production it was out of this world. I saw them many times when they were wild. But I recall seeing them in NYC a couple times after RC album, and the show had really lost a lot of insanity. Re was so great on stage.

I'm trying to remember the band but her name I've heard of before. I absolutely love that shirt your wearing. Shannon picked it out? But I am off to seek out her work so I can remember who she was. But her name definitely triggers my "ugh how do I know that nane and this will drive me crazy trying too remember who she was...such a aggravating feeling trying to remember someone... What year were the band at their peak?
