I agree, im pretty sure they were already beginning development but got axed in the end. It sucks to this day we never got a fourth game of it. Heck even the cliffhanger from postgame content was evidence of it to get another game. Capcom is really dumb to believe an enhanced port of mmbn1 was going to sell at all.

@@EXFOOLYCOOLY Star Force as a whole was just a chain of poor management decisions on Capcom's part, the first game was never supposed to have sequels so 2 and 3 were both chock-full of retcons, 2 was just badly made, and while 3 tried to apologize and fix most of the mistakes previous titles had made, it still didn't sell well enough to warrant a fourth. I don't get how this weird crossover game was supposed to fit into any plan for the franchise, or for that matter how Star Force 4 even made it as far as it did after the critical failure of 2 and the financial failure of 3. It's been over 10 years and I'm still angry we got Star Force 3 instead of ZX 3.

@@asteroidrules Apparently, Operate Shooting Star was supposed to be an official retcon to the Battle Network/Star Force universe, and that the success of the product was supposed to determine whether Star Force 4 would be in development, considering that the overarching plot of SF4 is supposed to be about an older Geo working together with one of Lan's descendants. Too bad that Capcom didn't really put much effort into remaking OSS's systems and content so no one bought it lmao.

@@HintsV2 I guess it makes sense that OSS and the plan for SF4 tried to lean in more heavily to the Battle Network connection, since there was more perceived interest in those. They kinda shot themselves in the foot by remaking the original Battle Network the way they did though, compared to the rest of the series it's very primitive and short, adding a couple chip improvements and an extra level/Megaman doesn't fix that, but I guess they didn't have the budget for this to be a proper overhaul. It's honestly pretty funny looking at the Clockman boss fight compared to literally every other boss in this game, most of BN1's boss AI was on par with the virus AIs, but his is actually closer to the bosses in subsequent games.

@@asteroidrules I wouldn’t say Starforce 2 is that bad. I just finished playing the game, and while it definitely has its issues, it was a lot better and funner than i was expecting. That doesn’t really change the fact that the game sold bad, but like...i figured i throw my opinion out here since i just finished it.

Pretty sure there's some dialogue in one of the humor that says the incident that makes Geo travel back in time happens a month after starforce 3 it then takes Geo two months in the past to finally reach the point you encounter him at. It gets brought up when Lan asks Geo's age and Geo says he just turned 11 a month ago(meaning in the time spent in the past trying to find clockman, he ended up only finding him as a result of trying to rescue roll), and Lan comments that "oh, then we're the same age now." which has the implications that Geo was younger through out the starforce series 1-3(10 years old) than Lan through out battle network(11 in first game apparently), but it is humor text so I take it with a grain of salt. After all there's two humors dedicated to making Geo the studious nerd character with higher than average intelligence out to be an idiot, both have plausible deniability but the implications are there. The first is about how Geo can't help with Lan's homework either it's too basic or it's too hard, mega says it must be too hard and the second is Lan mentioning some loner kid with the same last name and bad grades that's obsessed with space, Geo assumes this is his ancestor on the basis of name alone(?) I guess but given the way it's presented I think it's meant to imply that Geo also has bad grades. As for why it took Geo so long to find Clockman, apparently he spent the whole time scouring the Undernet and even made some contacts, with one of the humors implying that he bought something suspicious. (Or that he's doing something shady like buying a collectors item that's impossibly hard to come by in the future, so something innocent in the context of wanting/getting it in battle network's time but that once you consider the time travel element used to make it possible becomes kinda shady.)

ClockMan was made because it originated from a fan contest submission under the name Clock Genius; which would have worked for a SF game, but was retroactively made as a Net Navi instead for OSS.

If you're referencing the Megaman Battle Royale, it should be known that Screwattacks research for that battle wasn't very good. If EXE and Geo fought each other seriously, EXE's chances of victory would be very slim.

@@agentdiamond4728 The first thing I'll note before I'll say before anything else is that the Anime and Manga for Battle Network are completely non-canon to the games. They are three different continuitues that contradict each other to the point to where it's impossible they could happen in the same canon or continuity. In Battle Network 4, EXE jacks into an asteroid shaped rocket with a space themed background. Duo himself even calls the "asteroid" an *anti planet missile* at one point and acknowledges that EXE reached the control system inside its server before you fight with him. Deathbattle takes this way out of context to make the Cyberworld seem way larger than it actually is. In the manga EXE was desperate to save Bass from Nebula Grey. He *scans the net* for an answer (he wasn't physically moving or fighting that fast just scanning the net in desperation). He then downloads some of Gregars data into himself and proceeds to one-shot Nebula Grey out of nowhere (btw this is only one of those contradictions I mentioned.) The anime feat of EXE recreating and destroying the net is also exaggerated. An anime exclusive adaptive program EXE had was going out of control and nearly killed him. How does all this relate to Alpha? Alpha (in the games) is a prototype version of the net that never even had widespread usage, he would actually be even smaller than the actual net. In Megaman Starforce 3 there were two space criminals (the FM-IANS Corvous and Virgo) that allegedly wrecked havoc on and destroyed multiple planets. Omega-Xis tried to stop them but couldn't. These events happen before Starforce. Which means that even before transforming like Geo Stelar and Omega-Xis do, these two were planetary threats. Geo not only beats these two but goes on to defeat significantly stronger opponents during the events of Starforce 3. Last thing I'll mention is that noise in Starforce 3 disrupts and destroys technology and in large doses can even kill humans. Geo wasn't affected by this since he had a program (Redjoker/Blackace) that let him harmonize with noise. EXE wouldn't have this luxury, the noise generation alone from Black Ace or Red Joker alone would be dangerous and put EXE at a disadvantage against Geo if they fought. TL;DR: EXE has feats both canon and non-canon highly exaggerated to make him seem way more powerful than he actually is.

​@agentdiamond4728 If noise is involved, it'd be *pretty* one-sided in Geo's favor. To be fair to EXE though I could see him possibly defeating game 1 Geo or giving game 2 Geo a good bit of trouble. Edit: I retract my statement. The fusion of Gregar and Falzar (in the manga) was a planetary threat that EXE was only able to defeat with help from the rest of the cast (main canon EXE in the games never actually fought anything close to this and would get stomped unless he entered the DeusExMachina hub form from 5) meaning that EXE's strongest enemy in any of his canons, only measures up to something Geo beats at the end of his first game. Geo stomps pretty hard.
