Dangerfield is the best anti-depressant ever. Happy we can visit his many earthly highlights now that he's making heaven's angels laugh with joy.

The best is the overhead shot, showing everyone crammed into the little backyard. That is exactly what our family picnics were like.

Rodney was a freaking legend! He reminds me of my now deceased Italian Uncle Joe. Uncle Joe loved the party & was funny. His normal attire was brown plaid shorts, white tank top with gold chains tangled in his chest hair, black socks pulled up to his knees, & white shoes! He rocked that look! Taught me & all my cousins how to drink, cuss, & smoke around age 10! Nowadays we don't have cool people like that anymore. Everyone loved Uncle Joe. God rest his soul both him & Rodney

For me it was Uncle Walt....first beer I ever had was w my cousins, shootin pool in his garage, Pabst Blue Ribbon. To this day that is the best tasting beer in the World...at least to me!!

I love how all of the wedding guests crowd into the tiny Staten Island backyard! The house that the Capuletti's lived at is located at 58 McVeigh Avenue in the New Springville section of Staten Island.

Johnny Wadd Omg I found it on Google Maps! Thank you!!! Didn't they say they were in Queens in the movie, tho? My only copy is one I got for 99cents on VHS so it's been a good 17 years since I binged on it again.
@jherskine6 жыл бұрын
Berlin Saint Clair - I don't know if they ever actually said where the movie was supposed to take place, but it was filmed on Staten Island (The Capuletti's home and neighborhood scenes), Brooklyn (the Monahan's Department Store scenes), New Jersey (the race track scenes), and Florida (the scenes on board the yacht at the end of the movie).

Some think the world is made for fun and frolic, And so do I! And so do I! Some think it well to be all melancholic, To pine and sigh; to pine and sigh; But I, I love to spend my time in singing, Some joyous song, some joyous song, To set the air with music bravely ringing Is far from wrong! Is far from wrong! Harken, harken, music sounds a-far! Harken, harken, with a happy heart! Funiculì, funiculà, funiculì, funiculà! Joy is everywhere, funiculì, funiculà! Ah me! 'tis strange that some should take to sighing, And like it well! And like it well! For me, I have not thought it worth the trying, So cannot tell! So cannot tell! With laugh, with dance and song the day soon passes Full soon is gone, full soon is gone, For mirth was made for joyous lads and lasses To call their own! To call their own! Harken, harken, hark the soft guitar! Harken, harken, hark the soft guitar! Funiculì, funiculà, funiculì, funiculà! Hark the soft guitar, funiculì, funiculà!

I love this movie so much. I've watched it more times than I can remember. I lost it when The Simpsons did this scene. it was in the episode, The Sweetest Apu. the one where Apu has an affair and Marge is crying, watching Apu and Manjula's wedding video and Homer gets up with the band playing Indian instruments and starts singing this in gibberish. it cracked me up.

In the movie "Easy Money" has anyone besides me get the joke just before he gets a call about his mother-law dying? He is having a dream. In his sleep he is talking. He is saying "No, Nicky. Don't do it, he didn't mean it." I've seen the movie 10 times before I notice that joke. During the whole movie Rodney is stopping Nicky from fighting someone. He was even stopping Nicky in his dreams.

TonyButcher2- I happen to have some Italian in me & I first heard of this song because of this scene--literally. I've loved it, ever since!... I was about 5 years old when I first saw this scene & sometimes, I'll pull up the Rodney Dangerfield version whenever I either can't get this song out of my head, or, I feel like singing along to it. I'm still trying to master singing it in Italian & there are some parts to it that to this day, I still can't pronounce, correctly & I end up getting all tongue-tied over them.
