Pep Guardiola says Rodrigo is the ‘best midfielder in the world by far’ following his goal against Chelsea.
Guardiola is a huge fan of the Spanish star and insists it would have been harder to win the trophies we have done without the side’s lynchpin.
“He’s an unbelievable player. He’s the best midfield player in the current world by far,” said the boss.

Rodri is honestly unmatched. He is the best defensive midfielder of this generation and other fan bases may deny it but every time there is a new rising defensive midfielder they compare him against Rodri because they also know that Rodri is out of this world. The calmness and composure on the ball and his defensive qualities off the ball, he is just a complete pack of joy and unrealness. Always on fire and somehow comes through when a goal is needed the most, our Spanish batman.
