Update: Following the upload of this video, I got clarification from ASUS on the pricing for the ROG Phone 7 in the US. $999 - 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM (ROG Phone 7 w/o AeroActive Cooler 7) $1099 - 16GB RAM + 512GB ROM (ROG Phone 7 w/o AeroActive Cooler 7) $1299 - 16GB RAM + 512GB ROM (ROG Phone 7 Ultimate w/ AeroActive Cooler 7) The Ultimate package is still a pricey phone, but I think this is WAY BETTER than the import price I was basing on.

Yeah. I got the rog phone 7 non ultimate version. I upgraded from ROG Phone 3. While I wanted to but the ultimate version i was heavily contemplating on the price difference and the specification difference. Did not seem to be fair. So far no regrets. It gets warm but not to the point I feel I need the cooling fan. By that time I already probably spent more than enough time playing.

First time I watched a vid on your channel, and I am very much impressed! You got a new sub here btw. Regarding the phone, I was really contemplating on upgrading back to a,gaming smartphone. I previously had an ROG phone 2 that I kinda daily drive and had ALL the accessories to it: kunai gamepad, twinview dock - name it. I am currently keeping an s22 Ultra as my DAILY driver, and it's good, except for gaming - it really really gets kinda warm (sometimes warm is an understatement) after like 3 hours of demanding gameplay. (Yeah, I game. A LOT) so it's kinda pulling me back to a gaming phone. Would it be a decent shift that I would not regret later on from my s22 ultra? (Crossing my fingers for a reply since it's been half a year since this vid was posted)

Would you recommend this phone for media editing.

I currently have the 5s pro and only issue I have with these phones is having to carry my accessories in a separate bag everywhere. Lol I've gotten so use to having my active cooler on the back I never seem to remove it unless I know I won't play a game that day. I use the phone mostly for media so that 7 ultimate would be a good upgrade. Also there is no current available kunai controller for this like the previous ones yet.

As someone who Preordered this and is now using it as their main phone, I must say this review is 100% accurate.

Excellent video, just at timestamp 9:00 I noticed something that many content creators don't do. I urge for creators on youtube to put in reference recordings of other devices in their videos too, so we can compare to something, where we already know how it sounds IRL, like a run-of-the-mill iPhone and Android phone. listening to a phone speaker, recorded to a microphone and then compressed through youtube and played back through whatever speakers you are watching the video through just gives us no reference. yes we were able to see the difference between phone with and without the cooler/speaker on it but have no idea what it compares to other phones.

I just wish they would back this awesome phone up with better software update support. At its price I feel it should come with at least 4 years of feature updates.

The phone sounds great and all but I rather get the red magic gaming , because their prices are reasonable and not expensive and it also has some similar features to Rog gaming phone

The lack of expandable storage was the single biggest deal breaker for me. They got everything right except that. At 1500 dollars that should be standard. Thx for saving me the money.

1TB is an absolute necessity for gaming phones. If I have to sacrifice cameras for emulation; I need the space to store everything. Even tablets are being released with terabyte drives nowadays. The excuse that the ROG is an edgy "gaming phone" is irrelevant at this price point - especially where mainstream daily drivers are functionally surpassing it in many regards other than sound quality. Last I checked, I can get a Bluetooth speaker for less than 1500 dollars.

im so happy a Red Magic 8 pro void 16gb ram+512gb owner no need a extra cooler i have it in phone. full screen no edge on screen. have a trigger/shoulder button. 6000mha battery. no need a trash phone ^^ ahh and its cost 800€ not like AOG trash 1.4k

got this phone for 1 week now and already regretting it the battery fucking sucks and it doesnt last long even though they say its a big battery, also the fast charging heats up the phone like crazy and when i game for like 2 hours the phone is hot to the point of burning your hands if you wanna game on this phone you basicly gotta have the fan attached ALL THE TIME. and the software isnt great either this is a waste of money!!!!!!

Maybe im just a plebe, but i have never got the camera obsession. Im not on Instagram. I do take a lot of photos on vacation or with fam... but... yknow... every camera in the last 10-15 years has been perfectly fine. Im not clout chasing anywhere or trying to be a wedding photographer. Samsung is DQd because i cant stand their take on android. Apple is worse than Samsung with the walled garden and cult behavior. Pixel is DQd because they use garbage Enyxos chips that Samsung wont even use, leading to horrific battery degradation -- the #1 cause of having to switch phones. I have a Pixel currently and the battery is gone. The ROG is big (i like), has a massive battery (love), lets you charge to 80% to ensure longevity -- and at 80% has the same capacity as other flagships ? Is made for landscape (genius) - from ports to grip, still has headphone so it's easy to use on aircraft... Im sold. Literally just bought one.
