Today's filmmakers could have, and can, learn a lot from him. He never made the same movie twice and made a fortune while giving unknowns their big break. RIP.

Movie History as we know it would not be the same without him, the number of actors/directors who became legends themselves that got their start because of Roger Corman is extraordinary. While he was a great filmmaker of pictures that would become cult classics, he was also so much more to cinema. There will never be another one like him. Rest in peace.

It was because of Corman's Edgar Allen Poe film adaptations where I first saw Vincent Prince onscreen in 'The Fall of the House of Usher'. Thank you, Roger Corman. Rest in peace.

My very first interview of my very first San Diego Comic-con, I had the pleasure of sitting and interviewing Roger Corman. As a cinephile, it was a dream come true and a very fond memory. He IS cinema; look at who started with/under him. Thank you, maestro, for decades of films.

I read his autobiography for my 6th grade book report. That man became a personal hero to me prior to that, and a mentor from a distance afterwards. I had the pleasure of talking to him ..once...after I found the negatives of two of his first films, along with the editing/shot sheets, written on Allied Artist stationary dating back to the late 50s. I contacted him to see if he needed it back...not to hold it ransom(it belonged to my boss who was involved in the film business) He was a great gentleman, and understood completely, and thanked me for finding it. I wish I was able to talk to him more. He was flattered when I told him about the book report.

Although I have not had the chance to thoroughly watch any of the films that he personally helmed, I acknowledge that Roger Corman had quite the career in the motion picture industry from the 1950s all the way up until his death. He took under his wing and helped jumpstart the careers of many young directors starting out including Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Demme, Peter Bogdanovich, Joe Dante, John Sayles, and James Cameron. Besides up-and-coming filmmakers, he also commenced forward the careers of iconic actors including the late Peter Fonda [R.I.P.], the gone but never forgotten Dennis Hopper, Bruce Dern, Diane Ladd, William Shatner, and the iconic Jack Nicholson. Roger was also a pillar of the New Hollywood Wave of the 1960s and 70s. So long and farewell to The Pope of Pop Cinema.

@@MothGirl007 Don't worry. I'm going to start out with his adaptations of the Edgar Allan Poe movies he made with Vincent Price in a couple days. Then, I'm going read the book he published in 1990 called "HOW I MADE A HUNDRED MOVIES AND NEVER LOST A DIME." I'm interested in creating projects and I want to learn from one of the great celluloid masters.

Roger Corman has died as the director of such memorable film, he uses some the gimmicks that help star get into some horrors that we're seeing on Halloween Night as a theme during guest programmers and more. Alicia Malone who'll be dressing as a fiend said he'll be scaring people in memory, Dave Karger as Frankenstein said he was a man of many horrors and Ben as Dracula in October called him a pal and a friend of theirs. More creative, helped bring movies into our scary moods watching movies. Born and also known as Henry Niell Roger Williams back on April 5, 1926, he found the real thing in life doing what he likes in films such as The Little Shop of Horrors that turned into Broadway musical and a movie musical. He also did countless terror with The Pit and The Pendulum, The Raven and many others from the 70s and 80s with documentaries. Roger's hosting can be seen from AMC horror stories and directing hit specials. Roger was visionary as a director, producer to motion picture studios and as an actor. He married to Julia Halloran and had a son named Gene Corman and had 4 children. His dubbing was link to "The King of The Bs" and has become the most prolific figure and successful Producer of the day in both the horror films and B movies. He died at his home in Santa Monica, CA. He was 98 Years Old. A Look at other month of movies are at tcm.com and on the TCM App.
