Man Federer’s movement looks like liquid. Just so aesthetically pleasing
@geepeeone4 жыл бұрын
Because his movement is in line with his momentum, his body is not contorted against his inertia. Djokovic is the opposite. Human gumby. It works for both. I've seen both players play up close. Djokovic's shots are harder to anticipate because he has so much leeway in how he can contort his body on command.
@ThFile4 жыл бұрын
geepeeone where I can read more about that?

That's part of his genius- fluidity of movement.

I think he has the perfect body for tennis and his timing and strokes are sublime. I would rather watch him than any other player.
@TheJhtlag4 жыл бұрын
He lands on his split just when the other guy is hitting the ball, just a perfect rhythm. That's what I'm trying to pick up right now watching fed's practices.

These aren't "2 people". If you chose to watch me and my main tennis partner hitting, then you'd be right -- you'd really have to love tennis. Federer and Thiem? At court level? A privilege.
@travislandry80163 жыл бұрын
Thiem is a fantastic player, but something has to be said about the way Roger cuts up every single ball like butter. The man's an artist.
@kevinchang80903 жыл бұрын
absolutely. Roger is an artist. Thiem is a warrior. Tons to appreciate about both, but some people will naturally gravitate to certain qualities that they hold in higher esteem.

Well said. Fed j bends the ball to his will. It's j that talent.
@jensmaass90562 жыл бұрын
great! - I find most stunning he vicious velocity with which he decapitates (closest word in my fundus) his BH slices. these things land and bury themselves like mulls into the ground, like Graf´s but with even more !American twist", i.e. outward spin so that all his prey can do is (on his lucky day) see the death stalker coming early enough to somehow shovel it up. NASTY. imagine a ball popping whilst landing: that effect. Maybe THIS ONE he omits st. in order to make it a game and not an embarassment. Nothing to do with a decent flat slice; nothing to be done w/these "reversed Rafa-FHs" hit harder than any drive or topspin. Sadism.

You know someone is incredibly skilled at any art when they make it look effortless and simple. Every time I watch these kinds of practice videos I feel I can get on the court and emulate these professionals - only to realize how much training and practice it requires. And then some more. Just mesmerizing to watch these.

Even if you’re not fan of tennis you can still watch Fed and appreciate his greatness. Just flat out ridiculous how natural and pure this man is . Then he even has the confidence and class to purposely hit net shots in warm ups to make his opponent feel at ease. Out of this world
@jensmaass90562 жыл бұрын
until "is." your comment makes perfect sense; the rest is silence. or some antipsychotic pill.
@tennnis498 Жыл бұрын
Thiem is not his opponent. They don’t do warm-ups like that at pro-level. Hitting net shots to make opponent feel at ease? No.
