I like the old VA too for Roger as well as mihawk. His old voice truly sounded like that of a fearsome person RIP. Not only that everything they reanimated feels so rushed. In the original they would leave you hearing nothing but the tolling of the bell for like 30 seconds, made it surreal like an event that really would change the entire world

They gave off the aura of being hardcore professionals. The kind of people who would view executing the king of the pirates as 'just another job'.

They'll also be the guys who are remembered as failures who couldn't stop a single guy from reigniting the spirit of pirates.

@@carllipsey1497 It's hardly their failure that Roger was able to answer a question yelled from the crowd. If the World Government wanted then they could have executed Roger in secret or muzzled him but they paid the price for trying to make a spectacle of it.

There is a rumor that One Piece is actually that. The Story of Joyboy and the Void Century itself might the be the literal One Piece, and the treasure is there for treasure's sake. Which is clever given that it's the title of Luffy's story.

But Moria was able to DUEL with Kaido, that means he was equal to him. But then Kaido fought Moria once again when he was in Wano, and Moria lost. My theory was that Kaido learned how to use advanced conqueror's haki in his last fight with Moria, which allowed him to beat Moria.

I don't think you're far off. I think the real treasure is the world becoming one sea (one piece) by destroying mariejois, and reverse mountain (dividing the world) and the calm belts with the ancient weapons. The real treasure is freedom. X marks the spot at reverse mountain and there's an x in the map itself. That's where the final battle will happen and Luffy will punch someone through the mountain itself to destroy it, unite with Laboon, Sanji getting his ”all blue” dream accomplished in the meantime too. Oh also joyboy was apologizing to the fish people because that place would have to be destroyed in order to have a true and free one piece of ocean/water mass I'm calling it now

My guess is that One Piece is not only the treasure, but the concept of what it is. Rodger and his crew were brothers in arms, family thru and thru in all but blood. The treasure is real, the true treasure is the adventure to find it. The fullfilment of ones dreams for adventure and freedom on the open sea. Luffy and crew our on their way, he will gain the title, add to the treasure and pull like Rodger and pass the dream on to the next generation.

I have a feeling there’s a reason Crocodile’s face isn’t shown. I’ve seen a theory that Crocodile is a transgender man and this takes place before transitioning, and some even expand upon it further saying she’s Luffy’s mother too. I believe Crocodile is trans, but I do not believe that she is Luffy’s mom.

Back during the very early parts of the anime they shown this scene before and during his speech to that guy’s question they told Roger to shut up and hastily executed him when he ignored them
