I've got the same bike. Best I've ever done is 20 miles, 605 calories, avg Watts 213 and stop ever 5 miles for no more than 1 minute to take on water and stretch my hamstrings. I'll comfortably take on 2l of water in that time. Bear in mind that means 500ml in under a minute. Having started hydrated, I'm still thirsty at the end. Its hard work.

Ok. I did 999 calories today, under 90 minutes with 3 1 minute breaks to take on water. Average watts 204. Total distance almost 30 miles....I felt kind of gassed not in a bad way but in a really flat bored tired way.

Just did this. Took me 73 minutes and 15 seconds to reach the 999 calories on Echo bike! Average watts was 261 (but confusing cause I was doing 276 watts much of the time, and never dropped below 261 the whole time). It was not 90 degrees 😂 like this man did it. My garage was more like 30-35 degrees (February)! Just wondering if this is in line with others, or not? I do my own workouts on the Echo. Much appreciate the video! Can only imagine doing this in 90 degrees!

Depends what you mean by out of shape. I'm 5-9, 270 and about 35% body fat, 165lbs lean mass. I've got a history of obesia and a history of fitness. Long story. I can tell you now that if you're approaching this from a similar position you're far better off doing a 5-rest-4-rest-3-rest-2-rest-1 finish approach. Set aside 2 hours 3 times per week for this. Your target should be around 380 to 480 calories for this. This approach works because you can work hard safe in the knowledge that you'll get a break. So you can see the benefits of intensity and range. The time to kill yourself is in the last mile, finish empty, then recover, start again SLOWLY and build to an end. Use the last mile for recovery, cool down, or a killer sprint, depending how you feel.

Lol. It's so much easier to cut out bad calories. Trust me, if YOU HAD to do this shit every day you woukd soon start looking for a better way to do things. You can't outrun a bad diet. Truest thing ever said. Besides... Your body can't take 7 straight days of that sort of thing. For most out of shape persons there are serious issues regards hydration and recovery. Sometimes I can't get back to my regular resting body temp and normal levels of hydration for a day or two. Far far easier to just drop the calories and do a 500 calorie session on the bike.
