Had me in tears. Part of why I've always identified with the doctor is his "outsider" persona, he's always just drifting though, sometimes with a companion, sometimes alone, but always a kind of solitary figure. He's always too busy saving the day to think of his own happiness, and we have learned that he has been so traumatised by loss, that he's become afraid of meaningful connection. In this story he saw a similar quality in Rogue, and this created an almost instant connection between the two of them. Which was tragically cut short before it could even go anywhere, again due to the Doctor having to put saving humanity before his own fulfilment.

This was without a doubt my favourite episode of the series so far. A 10/10 episode - fast paced, great villains and storyline, effortless comedy, and an electrifying chemistry between the Doctor & Rogue. It was the first episode this season that felt like an RTD1 episode.

The fight scene w Ruby to “poker face” was so sick I loved it

Finally realized Rogue’s actor was the guy who played Agent Smith in Matrix 4. Wow!

This was a really fun episode. This is what I expected when RTD came back. These ridiculous fun stories with twists and turns. Has The Doctor ever chosen to save one friend over a city/world before? I like that this came after Dot and Bubble. Maybe The Doctor would have made the same choice regardless, but I wonder if Lindy refusing his help last week changed him in some way.

I loved this episode!!! I thought it was really well written, fantastic.

I prefer the asexual Classic Who doctor myself, but both actors were playing the roles well. I feel the romantic plot took precedence over the actual story which bothered me. Did have some good moments i liked, the "brooding scene" and the wonka song were great.

when watching this I feel like this episode was a backdoor pilot to a Rogue spin-off

Looked nice , and the Richard E Grant appearence was great, unfortunately this story was not for me. Alien opponents that can be defeated if you hit one with a book, yet they are supposedly going to cosplay the world to death...all five of them. These characters are just a background story while The Doctor spends his time with a very hurried romance , even when aware of the alien presence and while Ruby is being (fake) killed. Then there's more crying and a flash back of promising Ruby's mother he will keep her safe, clearly not if he is on a date, ..then the Doctor does.... nothing , it's Rogue who performs the heroics, The Doctor is paralyzed with indecision, has another cry. I thought the point of the bi-generation was the off loading of the Doctors emotional baggage , yet here we have an episode dedicated to an instant romance built around the Doctors mawkish contemplation. 4/10 for the costumes and "Shalka" Doctor, now canon? , Moving on to the two part finale.

Pathetic episode. Totally destroying the character of the Doctor.

I have to say I thought this stank. Absolute rubbish. Close to quitting.
