Great video lads. With the glasses, I was wondering if you guys knew if there was a big difference between the sizes (S, M and L) or if they looked about the same? Was thinking of buying a pair but the medium is out of stock and wasn't sure if small would work
@StetsonDoctor16 сағат бұрын
Joe says Tennant's glasses were a 'fixed' size, produced before the S/M/L versions were introduced. So none of them are completely accurate, but they'd all look the part!

Am I the only one who has ALWAYS assumed the Memory TARDIS was created for the show first? When Tales of the TARDIS first came out last year Russell said something along the lines of “you might get more answers about what the memory TARDIS is next year” so ever since then I expected it to show up in the main show and assumed that’s what it had been created for.
@StetsonDoctor7 күн бұрын
I remember seeing that quote, but I thought it would end up being something more obscure myself (e.g. a throwaway reference in dialogue). I never imagined the Memory TARDIS would actually appear in the show… though looking back it’s obvious!

*With all of the negativity from primarily UK KZfaqrs about this series and the finale, I have to ask why would Disney Plus ever bankroll a Series 3?* If there's a strategy in the criticism of the series and finale to make the show BETTER to let Disney know that we WANT to see more I'm just NOT SEEING it. I can only hope Disney's viewing numbers around the world from new people who don't follow KZfaq will encourage them to fund a third series and a fourth...And some spin-offs. Richard, at least yours is among the milder and slightly more balanced negative reviews I've watched and for that I thank you.
@craigelement18588 күн бұрын
There's only one person who can make the show better - and that's Russell. His writing style, with unexplained plot lines, wasted characters and the classic "re-set" button just doesn't cut it anymore - we've seen this all before. Unfortunately I don't think he's the sort of person who will take any criticism onboard and change his ways. Perhaps the best thing to do for the longevity of the show is for him to step aside after the next season (if that's also a bomb). Be careful what you wish for though - the next showrunner could "do a Chibnall".
@Farsight-nc1ib7 күн бұрын
The negativity is justified, trying to ignore that people dislike what Chibnall and Davies have done to the show, telling them they are talking nonsense or labelling them as something or other is just another form of censorship. Also, sticking your head in the sand and ignoring the fact that the public have deserted it in droves is like fiddling while Rome burns. For me personally, trying to shoehorn in an explanation as to how Sutekh survived Pyramids which is clearly untrue if you watch the original is unforgivable. It's like the way George Lucas ruined the original SW trilogy by constantly tinkering with it or even cultural vandalism. It's made even worse by the arrogance of Davies, thinking he's actually a good enough writer to do that. There's reasons why people criticise the show and stop watching. For me, that was the last straw.

This will definitely empower the haters. Don’t know how the show is going to last. Fingers crossed for the next season 😅
@peterd7888 күн бұрын
It was totally empty with a meaningless story. Even if you ignore the vile identity politics of the series which are unforgivable there was no escaping the fact that it was just threadbare nonsense. The actress who played the spoon lady did a great job even though the scene was bullshit.

Vile identity politics? As in having characters who are different from one another?

I think I agree with you on almost all of this. I did like the kind woman and spoon thing however, because it showed the real impact of Sutekh. As you said, seeing Unit and Ruby’s family die felt like “ok so this will all be undone” whereas the woman and her child, I felt they suffered so it adds to the scale and impact of what happened. Plus it’s nice to have a message of among all this death and destruction, people will still be kind to each other.
@HenryCLHarries8 күн бұрын
There's good bits within it I've learned to appreciate ...sadly this era just isn't for me it'd made for younger audiences and you can tell in the dialogue ....it didn't take until the finale for me to get that ....and it astounds me people only now get what I've been saying ages ago when star beast aired ....now the finale has aired I feel I GET the era ....but this will be the best it gets. ...next run of episodes will be lower ratings sadly because the buzz of NEW era will have gone so they'll need to be careful how they go about the next series ....overall though there's worse episodes this era
@joeeeee2568 күн бұрын
Poor story, but very well excecuted! Idk if that makes sense :) I wonder, should Russel write the finale resolution before anything else in the season and work back? Surely that'd provide a much more satisfying ending.
@gemgoska91028 күн бұрын
There was still no explanation for the snow. My thoughts are Ruby was created by another god, but was still born to human parents. We find out Susan Triad was born to human parents even though she was a creation of Sutekh. Perhaps it could go this direction with other human creations from different gods? And that final scene with Mrs Flood. She looks like a fluffy Mary Poppins. It’s funny how they put snow in that scene. A connection to Ruby? Although I’m not too sure about that. I do wonder with Mrs Flood breaking the fourth wall could mean she’s a god of stories. It could explain why she takes a narrative role.
@stephenwinfield96578 күн бұрын
I think the reason Sutekh wasn't presented as he was in Pyramids of Mars.. Millie asked the Doctor in the remembered TARDIS why the whole Egyptian thing after seeing the video? The Doctor commented, cultural appropriation.. so he was presented as a Jackel..
@Farsight-nc1ib7 күн бұрын
No, the ancient Egyptians appropriated Osiran society and culture to form the basis of their religion. That is retcon nonsense.
@hotdog12147 күн бұрын
But the image of Sutekh as a Jackal like creature is from Egyptian mythology, so it would still be appropriation (which I argue the line about it is wrong anyway - its depicting the Osirans, an alien race who were perceived by the ancient Egyptians as gods because of their incredible power and advancements - that is not what cultural appropriation means - I think RTD mis-stepped there). However, I think Richard may be suggesting what some other fans have mentioned, that Sutekh was a frightening and powerful being when he was just portrayed as a man sitting in a chair and that perhaps that could have been brought in at some point. Oddly it was more intimidating than the giant CGI dog, perhaps a case of less is more - but on the other hand I can see that maybe its geared towards younger or modern audiences who want a big gnarly monster.
@Farsight-nc1ib7 күн бұрын
@@hotdog1214 I don't think he mis-stepped, I think he knew what he was doing. The Egyptians appropriated from the Osirans, not the other way round. The CGI Sutekh was appallingly bad, as was the manner of his defeat.

She might be the master from "The Mind Robber" - a story with the Second Doctor. Mrs Flood's purpose seems to have a good story. No matter who die, no matter who wins - her primary interest is a catch story. So as the master's from "The Mind Robber". As oppose to science fiction's nature of the previous seasons, this one is getting more supernatural/fantasy as it breaks the boundaries between dimensions. As a result it returns The Toymaker and other supernatural creatures that break physics laws and even canon for the sake of plot development. That's why think that Mrs. Flood is the master from "The Mind Robber".

@garfar91210 күн бұрын
I rather hope that we either don't find out who Ruby's parents are or, it turns out they're just normal humans but that's when Ruby leaves the show at some point in the future arc completed. Ruby learning to make peace with her origins and lead a full life despite them is a much stronger story that a reunion story. There's a lot of misdirection going on, Russell knows how to play us at our own game! The eps are peppered with little things that might mean something. One thread seems to be the Doc being carefree and not having responsibility. So it would be interesting to see him saddled with - say - a great granddaughter. So many Susan comments, he needs to reach out to her, and it would need to be an un-regenerated Carole Ann Ford. Maybe Mundy is her daughter. We don't know how timelords procreate so we're probably applying very human attributes. It would be so cool to watch a 6 month pregnant Ncuti waddling away from legions of cybermen. There's lots of references to Ruby's age and date of birth. Also Mrs Flood still existed when the goblins ate Ruby, but didn't know what a tardis was, but did know when Ruby's timeline was restored. So not Ruby's daughter, but some sort of connection. Would quite like it if Cherry Sunday was a timelord in hiding, and the flat was a tardis.
