Got mine in today and the new Elysium is incredibly good. Not redundant to have and it’s got more depth I think. I love it! The rhubarb note is awesome. Isola Blu is great too but too pricey! Haha

That Isola Blu dry down is freaking amazing. Don’t be put off if you try it out and the opening smells extremely citrusy and overpowering, let that thing dry for a minute and it’s honestly addictive.

I was going to buy a tester Elysium from Jomashop, but they sold out. So I instead ordered 40 knots from FragrancebuyCA last Saturday. It arrived just an hour ago, and I gotta say it’s ok. The opening is not my favorite, but I’m sort of digging the dry down.

Great job - detailed and sincere. Some are saying Isola is Oligarch and some not. It's rather confusing.

Isola IS Oligarch Parfum (2022), but not Oligarch Eau de Parfum (2016) - I think this is where some of the confusion lies for some people. Roja have confirmed themselves on social media (multiple times) that the formula is identical to Oligarch Parfum, it’s just a name change.

Hey justin nice content man !!! I discovered oligarch round same time as you and bin one of my fav frags of all time and woz gutted they discontinued oligarch edp at 240 pounds and totes agree better slightly than the new isola rebrand side note sospiro basso is a great greener take on this dna done by Christian provenenzo in a 100 ml bottle check it out also on my over all time favs that dont get as much attention is burlington 1819 king fragrance loads naturals and great smooth transitions limes and citrus tobacco and rum complex freshie and makes me feel classy peace from the uk

So my prediction, is that since expectations have been thrown off, is that now that it has your interest, once you've spent some more time with it, it will grow on you, as these things tend to do, and eventually will surpass the original in terms of interest. For me, I find the period immediately after the opening kind of almost rubbery, then the dry down is good, but not unique. I was disappointed in the original Elysium. Likely it's one of few that just don't fit my skin, but I will try to do a few more full wearings.

I ended up giving it a full wearing last night. 10 sprays, and I couldn’t really detect it. Grace could smell it on me at the end of the day (almost 7 hours later) and said it smelled good, but it was faint. We were also outside quite a bit and it was hot. Need to give it a climate control wearing soon.

Great review! But it’s mind boggling Elysium Intense didn’t get discounted yet. What a disaster of a fragrance. Not to mention crazy overpriced one. But I recon since it’s still in the line up someone keep buying it.

2 questions. 1. Would you say wearing too many EDP or Parfum concentrated scents would make your nose less able to detect an EDT? Like in a sense that if you constantly lift heavy weights you feel no effect from lifting a lighter weight? 2. What would you say about trying the original of a scent line to as opposed to just buying a recommended flanker? I’m trying to get more into the appreciation of a fragrance line instead of just going for what’s hot right now ( I usually buy what I like anyway not what’s recommended by others). If that makes sense

1. I don’t believe so. An EDT can often be more diffusive than an EDP, actually making it stronger in the opening than an EDP. I like the idea of trying the original first if it makes sense.

Given the average-at-best performance but wonderful scent of the parfum cologne, I was hoping the eau intense would be an amped version of the original. Like so many extremes, intenses, etc of today, the notes and/or profile is changed. Darn.

@@stayfreshproductions I tried Sántal des indes, as you suggested and here is my review, I love it, first thing I can think of is an intense incense and a dark room - in a eastern country much like Oman , a slow beating drum , a boozy sweet winter fragrance for the states, but a fragrance worn in the Middle East in the desert heat pulsating from a sweaty brow… it smells in the realm with jubilation IIV. But. Not the same definitely in the realm of 4’s from fragrantica. I am glad I bought this.. an asset to my collection.

They are completely different and incomparable! It depends on your taste. While it is a good scent, GB is not my preferred taste. So I prefer Isola Blu. Sample them both if you’re interested.

In my opinion the flanker situation is just laziness from the brands and shouldn't be supported with our hard earned money. Especially when we are at such a high price range.

Flankers are what builds the lines into collection. That’s like saying trim levels is laziness for cars. Flankers are kind of what makes these fragrances expand into a broader dynamic

Ngl, I don’t even like the packaging/bottle for Elysium ‘intense’. This is just Subjectively speaking but if the bottle represents the juice inside then I’d safely assume that the brand cheapened out on this one. However, w Roja, it’s not hard to assume that he spent less on the aesthetics so that he could go complete 🦍 💩 inside & create a powerhouse of a fragrance
