The Cambridge machine really is becoming a thing of the past. We used to have these tests done on our own account, but with the number of new jeans coming to market, we cannot afford to test every jean. But truth be told, we don’t feel a need for a Cambridge test where something is AAA rated. Confused by your comments regarding vendor claims. A test result is a test result. AAA tells you that these jeans are strong enough. CP

@@Motolegends Good points. By "vendor claims" I was referring to the case where there is no CE rating just what the vendor says in ads (not meant to be a negative to Rokker as I am a fan-have several of their jeans including the original).

I agree, I'm not convinced they are abrasion resistant as AAA rated equivalent leather jeans but don't want to crash test them myself, or leathers to find out! Testing needs to be like for like so we can draw definitive conclusions.

@@michaelmclarney1994 It's great to finally see AAA-rated Rokkers, and given the availability and price ranges of the multiple single-layer and lined jeans that can be bought at AAA level from many different brands, we'd suggest that there's no reason to buy AA or A anymore. However, it is a shame that EN17092 has created a relatively low baseline in the current top standard of AAA, meaning it's easy to infer that all products with that rating perform the same, when that's not necessarily the case at all. MotoCAP in Australia is a very useful reference for those looking for further test results. Still, EN17092 has at least given riders the chance to make some form of comparison when buying. John

I think I agree with some of the comments here. Why tell us about an old Resurgence jean when what we are reviewing here is something completely different? We launched that original Resurgence jean and , whilst it is impressive, it’s not particularly nice to wear. Chasing AAA for the sake of it is a mistake. It’s not difficult to meet the AAA level, you just use thicker, heavier fabrics. The Revolution is a bit different. It’s an amazing waterproof jean. It just happens to be AAA. CP.

@@Motolegends Fair enough, and I agree with your point about waterproofness. It's just that I see those jeans being overlooked a lot. I find thicker jeans to be more comfortable while riding because they protect from the uncomfortable feel of hard metal surfaces of the bike (depending on the shape of your bike). I've worn the resurgence jeans since 2018 and I find them comfortable even during summer, they don't get logged with sweat in the crotch and waist area and don't feel damp because the wicking works really well. Through winter they are the best of the best. I did a 400 mile motorway journey on them at 2°C and felt alright. In terms of safety you can't ask for a safer jean from waist to ankle. In terms of stretchability, take any other pair of jeans in the shop and you'll struggle to find a more elastic jean, they will stretch to accommodate any big old race boot under them, like my A-stars SMX Plus. Only downside is they are so thick you can't fit them inside any boots comfortably, the boots have to be tucked under the jean but I prefer that anyway. In terms of longevity I've washed mine around 15 times in the last 4 years and done > 10000 miles on them and they are still looking good. In terms of the design, they look like a very premium, classy jean, anyone looking them will see they are top notch from a fashion standpoint, the color looks so good and the finish looks very swarve. The jeans downside are 1) they take a long time to dry and air out for freshness when you wash them because they are are so thick. So washing them during colder months or drying them indoors is a pain. 2) If they get rained on its a pain to dry them because of the point above (so on rainy days put your waterproof later on top) and 3) they shrink significantly if you spin at higher speed or tumble dry (which you shouldn't) but they stretch enough to fit a Michelin man even if they shrink. So I'll concede to your waterproof point but I still think Resurgence are the best brand for jeans by far in terms of safety and comfort (I've tried many other brands) and take your view point of being able to layer for waterproofness like with the Marakesh, especially for people like me who use these jeans for frequent, long motorway trips, all seasons, throughout the year instead of buying adventure style jeans. I'll come to the shop one day to look at the other jeans but it'd be a hard sell to find a better purpose built jean than the Voyager.

You do not need to size up on new Revolutions. Just go with normal jeans size. We can hem them. Don’t recommend you do it yourself as you could damage membrane.
