The story telling goddess from Hyderabad opened with a short, fun story about a frog race. She went on talking about the beauty and dangers of storytelling, the power of imagination and the importance of day dreaming.
Deepa Kiran is a storyteller, education consultant, writer and voice-over artist. She weaves in music and movement into her telling and holds training programs for teachers on employing storytelling in the language classroom. She lives in Hyderabad and holds her shows and workshops across the country. She holds a Masters in English Literature from the University of Hyderabad and a PGCTE (Post graduate specialization in the teaching of English) from EFLU, English and Foreign Languages University.

TEDx is requested to add a significant feature to this channel. It would be of tremendous help for passionate learners of English if TEDx shared full PDF transcript of each of the speeches. Please! I urge the controller of this channel. Please fulfil this demand. Who all agree to this demand? Please put comments on your part.

Ive so many videos on story telling but what is amazing about ms deepa is the gentle way she takes up controversial ares like hatred about whats in another mans plate and fair skin prejudice. We live in a world of wars, inflation, ideological politics and we are not able to think clearly and are clouded by emotions. Thank you deepa only stories can save the eorld and bring us closer to the human heart and make us real human beings.thank you amity University i geel you can give her a grant and dend her acroosnthe eorld with her simple but vutal heart warming message to the world in these troubled times when mankind is on the edge destruction

Good to see a variety of issues being discussed in storytelling. Regarding the food story, like any other story, we must realize that everything out there is not just to eat up or consume alone. What the santhals eat at one particular point of time need not be what another santhal eats at another point of time . Food habits of deserts are not the same as that of forests. Food habits like all habits can change. But forcing them on people can be faced with tremendous resistance. I also hold the view that if a particular animal is considered as sacred or dear to someone or a community, I would think that, that is one way of preserving the life of that animal. In a selfishly human centric worldview, animal lives and rights are just ignored

Beautiful brilliant ...well articulated 💖 speaker.....some thoughts I had after listening to this video...story telling is healing......so many beautiful stories sometimes get lost in transition, such amazing stories sometimes never get a listening ear .... I always thought till 2 years ago that, story telling was only for children ,at home parent and child , among friends at school , literary fests and events....it is all that yes , academic and more but today I see a whole new world of story telling on all levels , corporate academic communities ...story telling has become an industry by itself on a global platform which I find so amazing...it is bringing the world closer on so many fronts ....stories are everywhere within us and out...stories can change lives ....everybody can be a story teller and get better if they feel heard understood encouraged and motivated....it's amazing to see how storytelling takes you on an inward journey while helping you express yourself 🌻for me the most beautiful stories are narrating stories down memory lane...narrating stories of my favourite vacations n trips....
