Great video, concise and not in the least boring 😉 . I was fortunate to have stumbled upon a transitional piece, an in-between 87-88 R Series full set at steal in 2019 7000.00 euros.

This is a fantastic review and highlights all the reasons I'm looking for a 16700, primarily the quickset date. I'd also be looking for a later model with Luminova, though I've seen some earlier models that have service dials. Basically I'm looking for usable lume and the thought of a service dial doesn't bother me one bit. 😃 I also wanted to ask, can the bezel be set in such a way that it displays the time in a "half hour" timezone, such as India, which is GMT +5:30? Thanks so much in advance.

Hi there, thanks for your comment. Yes the bezel can be moved in small increments to read in less than 30 minute increments

I bought one of these because one of the attractions is that it has a sapphire crystal rather than acrylic.

Just came across your channel so have subscribed. I think a box & papers set in the UK is starting at minimum £10k in the UK which is crazy, is it worth it? Yes definitely as it's a superb watch. Such a shame it didn't come on a coke insert as the fat lady came (only) on the coke! I much prefer it on the jubilee & is probably the most comfortable watch in anyone's collection.

Thank you, yes they are more useable than the 16710 due to the quickset date if you are wearing it on rotation!
