The Omega Seamaster Railmaster "Blue Jeans" 220.10.40.20.03.001 is encased in 40mm of stainless steel surrounding a blue jeans dial on a stainless steel bracelet. Features of this Omega Seamaster Railmaster "Blue Jeans" include hours, minutes and seconds. This Omega watch also measures 12.6mm in thickness and 46.7mm from lug-to-lug.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 Turquoise Blue 124300 is encased in 41mm of stainless steel surrounding a turquoise blue dial on a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Features of this Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 "Tiffany" include hours, minutes, and seconds. This Rolex watch also measures 11.7mm in thickness and 47.5mm from lug-to-lug.

At the secondary market price, NO way would I pay 23k for an OP. The Omega is a fair value at 3500$ and a good looking watch.

If we ignore the absurd hype around this one particular OP dial, you can't go wrong with either watch, but I definitely find the Omega's denim dial more interesting. That said, it'd awesome if Omega updated the Railmaster with the same sandwich dial they gave the new SM300, because the dial is too flat for my taste (much like the old SM300 was), so a bit of dial depth would be appreciated.

Ignoring hype, pricing, availability - I've always felt omega was the mature gentleman's watch (think a younger grandpa who remains stylish) and Rolex was the sporty brand. Both great for you just at different points in life, if that makes sense?

I can get the Omega for 3200 euro new. I belive the AD price on the Rolex was its value. For that price I would buy it wear it. Thats not the reality I am considering the railmaster because I can afford it would wear it and that's more valuable to me.

Love me some Omega (it's where I started my watch journey), but OP here for sure. Now, compared to an Aqua Terra...that's a closer fight (which you've done before). In my case, I chose AT as my first luxury watch!

My Aqua Terra 2500 is only 11mm thick, beautiful cream dial, still 150 metres resistant, runs to chronometer standard after 14 years. I wear it pretty much every day. My OP Green 36 is in a safety deposit box, where it has been since March. It has therefore somehow become imaginary. Yes, I'm an idiot. Omega on the other hand is a watch for people who actually want a watch.

OP: I have the lemon and love it, I would have liked the coral, and would still like to get the blue and green ones. It is slim, comfortable and of course has the easy link which is a big thing for me with bracelets.

I got the OP36 in candy pink . I find it super versatile with blazers , to jeans to tshirts to the gym .

I looked at some different colour OPs, tried them on appreciated the looks. Left the boutique, thinking I'll need to sleep on it before i decide. Soon after, i went back but stopped by an Omega boutique on the way. I tried on the blue railmaster on the strap and left the shop lighter in cash but with something that was love at first sight. May pick up the silver one on the bracelet as well. You like what you like 👍 👌

I'm an unashamed Omega fan, but in this case it's the Rolex - at retail, or close too anyway. Was on a "waiting list" for one until it was discontinued, and it wasn't to flip - I just think it's easily the better looking watch of the two on show here, and also one of the nicest in Rolex's lineup (or was - typical Rolex discontinuing it).

I'd go with the Omega as it's readily available I feel like everything Rolex conversation comes with "price is no object" or the idea you'd find it at retail. Which kind of ruins the comparison then except for a few folks who can afford to pay the secondary market price for a Rolex. Great content as always Tim.

I own pieces from both and to be honest I really do like Omega. While I do think the OP is very overhyped it is superior to this Omega. The printed dial on the Omega is a fail in comparison. Rolex makes great timepieces and have value at list. The problem begins when you introduce waitlists and gray market prices. Something Omega seems to be moving towards which is disappointing.

Self confessed Omega fanboy but I really like the OP….personally I’d have it in 36mm and the bright blue colour. I’d take the Aqua Terra over a Datejust though

Both watches are incredible, no argue there. That being said, current Rolex situation is just absurd- waiting lists for years, prices going up, etc. The Omega is a better value proposition. Also, if you pay above retail for the Rolex, it makes it a terrible proposition. But at the end of the day everyone should get what their heart desires and fits their lifestyle.

Lot of Rolex haters here. Price of course is an issue. But versus should be about which is the better watch. For me the choice is clear...it is the OP. I own the OP41 in yellow!

No way I would pay 25k for this Rolex, but I think it is more extravagant than the Railmaster and if price was not an option I would choose the Rolex (though I am an Omega fan).

That 41 is just too big for me despite the fact that I love that shade of blue. I just don't like the case shape on the Omega. I wouldn't get either, personally

$25,000 for this Rolex is absolutely ridiculous! This is no way justified! Besides, what man would wear a watch with this dial color? 😂 And even otherwise, I would prefer an Omega over a Rolex any day. The image of Rolex watches (looking at what kind of people wear a Rolex compared to the person wearing an Omega) doesn't speak to me. I can't identify with it, nor do I want to.

@@buymac I think his point is, there are watch fans, and there are Rolex fans. Watch fans will buy and wear what they want regardless of other opinions including both Omega and Rolex. There is however a group who are only interested in bling factor that comes with a fine watch and therefore only care about Rolex which only serves to support their own ideology of being superior

@@Angry_Gnome Omega is a great watch, just lower in the hierarchy than Rolex, like Seiko is great, but lower than Omega. I love my Seikos as much as my Omegas, and my Omegas as much as my Rolex.
