Agreed with all points. There is an optical illusion with each strap. The oyster makes you feel like a manly airline pilot from the jet age. He has chest hair, smells like victory and has affairs with equally elegant flight attendants wearing Hermes Caleche and a Cartier Tank. The Jubilee makes you feel like a pimp or a soccer player with flimsy wrists and a lot of insecurities so he needs somthing shiny and people will give him the love his mama did not. Kidding, both are awesome, but it’s a matter of personality. I looove the jubilee but always gravitate towards oyster more.

Lucky I own both bracelets. In my opinion the oyster is more sporty and jubilee is more dressy. At the end it’s all about the personal preference and what you can get from the AD.

Personally I agree with you but let’s just leave it to preference. Both are fine and great if one chooses one or the other. It also doesn’t help that these kinds of opinionated videos easily influence the herd hence influencing the demand or in most regular people’s case - the market price because most of us who do want the BLRO on a jubilee can’t get it at retail because now EVERYONE wants it and some people might not even know why they do, just because they watched some video on YT without doing the proper research.

Jubilee does make it smaller due to the breakdown of multi links where the oyster would have a single link. Big fan of the jubilee on the GMT.

Jubilee is only a tad bit more comfortable but the oyster is still the best. One it will outlast any jubilee and it takes more of a pounding all day oyster for me. Oyster is for men that live life and live to its fullest.

The jubilee bracelet/strap drapes straight down making the actual lug to lug shorter without the oysters male endlink. That’s why it feels smaller. ❤

Tim Mosso explains this well. The end links to end links not the lug to the lug are longer on the oyster than jubilee. So its not an optical illusion the proportions are smaller!

For me, I have the oyster bracelet. Reason being, my first Pepsi was a gift in October 1967. So for 55 yrs. I’ve had a Pepsi on my wrist. After half a century having an oyster on my wrist, I’ve never given it much thought how it feels. The polished centre links are a magnet for scratches. Buy then again. I bought the watch to wear. When I tried on the watch at the AD to adjust the bracket, I didn’t bring gloves with me to handle the watch. I didn’t buy the watch to worship. I’m sure 99% of the viewers watching the video were not even born in 1967. For me, it’s not. I want a Rolex, don’t know why I really want one. But I know I want a Rolex. The sad thing is. All these newbie’s want to be seen wearing a Rolex. Rolex marketing love it.

The third point is not just an illusion. I tried on the Batman on jubilee and a rootbeer on oyster at the AD, having a smaller wrist, I thought I could never buy or wear a GMT. The oyster bracelet flares out at the end links more, making the watch "less" wearable. The jubilee hugs the wrist way better

I have a sub with the oyster and a sprite with the jubilee. I like both a lot but if I had to pick one, it would be the jubilee. It just hugs the wrist better and is more comfortable.

BUT the oyster clasp on the jubilee looks wrong. Rolex cheaps out by not making a Crownclasp hidden clasp for the larger 41mm jubilee bracelet. They do make it in 36 and 28mm sizes and it looks great. The oyster clasp on the large jubilee bracelet looks like something you’d find on a cheap Chinese watch. Rolex could make a Crownclasp 41mm jubilee and charge more and it would sell many more of them. Once again Rolex doesn’t do what’s wanted by it’s customers or what’s a better design. You’re forced to take what they decide to give you. Like on the SeaDweller. Do we really need that printing on the rehaut? Is it advertising or what? It looked horrible when it was printed on the case back, now it’s worse that it’s on the watch face . “Original Gas Escape Valve” “Ring Lock System”. Like we don’t know this?
